How many calls should I make

So emails didn't work for me in finding offline clients, so I've decided to start making cold calls. I hate them to be honest, but I know it's the only way for me to get things rolling asap.

To be able to make this, I need to decide how many I should call and then just do it. If I think to much, I will just over complicate everything and end up not calling.

So I was wondering how many calls I should make in four weeks, so I at least can say that I really gave it an honest try if I was not able to find a new client?

    You've already failed...

Don't get sour but you're attitude is horrible, and if it remains like it is now you might as well just pull the classifieds and find a job.

Soft people will never be able to run a business and quotes like the above bolded, are showing softness, and weakness.

Business owners are not soft, business is sink or swim, live or die. You're either going to succeed or not. If not, step out of the way so someone else can.

Now that ive given the pep talk here is the answer to your question.

Call until your fingers bleed. Seriosuly.......quit thinking about numbers and call. The more you call the more you sell, the more you sell, the more money you make, the more money you make the more you can grow, and the more you grow the faster you prosper.

I seriously need to make a post of how I started....Because it seems none of you are as desperate as I was. There was no other option and I literally dialed and called until my fingertips were numb, the phonebook was torn apart into shreds, and my voice sounded like a 15 yr old hitting puberty.

I'm not coming down on you, but it's always the same people that post stuff like this are the ones usually filling everyone's PM boxes with "please help me" messages. Just work man, don't stop sending emails because you failed once, try it again, call until you're sick due to sleep deprivation, market yourself like you want to succeed.

I'm sorry but these posts bother me.

I don't know what area you work in, but just a thought. Wouldn't it be easier if the people you phoned up were already warm, i.e. they had already opted in to an offer, or had requested some information from you? That way you wouldnt be wasting your time as the leads and calls would already be qualified. Just my 10 pence worth.

It's a real shame that folks making these kinds of posts, will not hit the search button and tap into the wealth of information, that exists here.

The question you are asking, and several related ones, have all been asked and answered, many, many times before.

I can only guess it's because the information is free, and people don't value what they don't pay for.

Make one call in four weeks. If you don't get a call back or a close...you failed.

    Just kidding...

    Just keep reaching for it.

Setup a daily goal of how many calls you're going to make and make sure to hit your goals daily.

Its also a GREAT idea to give some thought as to what you're going to say so you're not tripping over your words.

    Best of luck.

    Regards

I would focus on making absolutely sure you a close a new deal in the next month. Once you do that, tally up your phone calls and that is how many calls it took. Generally gets easier from there.

95% of IM'ers have great relationships with clients who also advertise offline and with other people. Stop missing out on that cash and leverage into it. PM me if you are an established marketer and want to find out how.

When I was training new salespeople in the field, every once in a while, I would go knocking on doors (residential sales), to show how easy it was.

The guy that was with me one evening asked "What are the chances of you doing a presentation?"

I said "Tonight? 100%. The chance of the next person I talk to being ideal? Maybe one in six. The chance of you seeing a sale? Maybe 50%".

Your chance of getting a good appointment or sale today (if selling over the phone) are just about 100%, if you keep calling until you get that appointment.

Heck, if you just walked into a business and told the owner "I'll give you $20 for 10 minutes of your time"...you'd be busy all day. And you'd be making money.

      I'm not kidding.

I tracked how much I actually worked, how many hours a day..I did it for three years. I only counted prospecting and selling time (including travel). In that three years, there was never an 8 hour working period, where I didn't make a sale. And the sales were $1,500. Just get to work.
