New from Big G - Google Helpouts

selling by the minute, by the hour - selling, how to start a business, how to SEO, building a website, Wordpress help..etc..,

Update (thanks to Rus Sells) - no SEO

https://helpouts.google.com/home

How can we as marketers see this as a trend to confront?

How can we take advantage of this new, bright shiny object?

Is it taking away are business and "commoditizing" what we sell???

food for thought

Good questions. I'm still pondering the other questions, but this is a big NO. It will give tire kickers a place to get some good info for free or cheap. However, IMHO a business is where there is something of value presented at the price the buyer see's worth it.

Look at the cleaning lady. Who can't clean their own house? There are countless examples of things we can do ourselves or cheap, but would rather pay someone else that we trust to do it instead.

Ultimately I think this service will roughly mirror the five dollar article writers of today, in terms of level of quality.

Also keep in mind that Google starts these little projects knowing that four out of five of them will fail within short time.

I see Joel Comm has already jumped in helpoutprofits.net - Registered at Namecheap.com with a $47 dollar training course. He is considered the adsense guru so maybe there is something there afterall.

Does anyone have the current link for Joel's course?

I heard that Google forced him to change the name of his course & his URL/link to it because he was using "HelpOuts" without their permission - or something like that.

        Thanks,
        Richard

Business advice and search engine optimization are forbidden on help outs and I suspect other aspects of online marketing will be included under search engine optimization so I don't see this as any threat to my business in the least.

Any one who bought some one product on how to use help outs for their SEO agency is in for a big surprise and will find out they wasted their money on some one new shiny object.
