Facebook PPC ads. Who here uses facebook PPC?

I'm interested in giving facebook PPC a try for offline clients. I have some questions I figure I might as well ask to see if I get lucky.

Better to create a very targeted offer?

What is a recommended setup? I have no idea where to start. Link to a salespage with email optin? Or contact form?

Ideally i would like to target a very specific niche with a very specific offer such as mobile websites.

I have no clue where to begin. All I know is I want a true funnel system. None of this linking to my website stuff...i'm past that.

I'm willing to invest. I thought about going to a copywriter but I need some answers first.

I'm looking for anything here, throw me a bone.

    I do what you describe.
I have an ad that directs people to a free report.
The free report then sells them a small product.
The small product then sells a mid-range product.
The mid-range then sells my higher end consulting.
Moving people up the money ladder... or down my profit funnel.
This is what works best for my products and services. I am not sure what would be best for mobile websites. Test and find out.

My idea was to use the mobile websites AS the low end product. I can pitch mobile websites all day long. The sales page could be a report on the importance of a mobile website etc...

Back in 2007 I had a Hannah Montana website where I sold products through the Ebay affiliate program (Wordbay plugin). I used Adwords and FB ads to drive traffic and it worked out pretty good, averaging a little over $60 per day in profit from that one site for many months.

Then one day Google started charging me $10 per click (i.e. Google slap) and Ebay discontinued their $20 per signup on Commission Junction. That was the end of that, but even back then, FB was really good for targeting. Its way better now so just put something together, test some campaigns and rollout more when you have a winner.

To convert well on FB, don't think keywords. People go to FB to socialize, they don't search for stuff. Make your ads eye catching and zero in on your target market.

        Thanks for the replies,

But I'm past most of that. I know basics. I'm talking 'system'. Is it too much to single out a single niche for a single offer? I want a very tight target market but not too tight that the campaign is worthless.

Is there a tool to show the reach of some of these ads?

I was going to elaborate, but since what I've detailed isn't a "system"... I guess it won't help you. Or will it... ???

No, it's not too much to make a specific offer to a specific niche. I do this.
There are certain products that I market to certain niches only.
I am not in the lawn care niche, but it will prove my point. I would market a product to help lawn care companies attract more accounts in their given routes.

You have to make sure you know your audience and can get it right. If you don't target correctly, you won't see good results.

Have you played with Facebook PPC at all? As you are setting your ad up, it tells you the reach you can expect.

I'm sorry if i came off harsh.

Do you use a type of landing page to capture information? How much information is too much? ie email only as compared to email, name, phone etc.

I have just started experimenting with facebook ads, have a good image, powerful advert copy by using terms from your target market that they are familiar with and if your in the make money online niche, be careful as facebook scrutinize your page for dodgy promises. As long as your offer is legitimate you will be fine.

Yes, I use a landing page.
I like Lead Pages. Not sure what your budget is, but they offer free pages as well.
I only ask for Name and Email. The more info you ask for, the lower the subscriber base.
I am after subscribers to start filling my funnel, someone else may be after a lead.

If I was you, I would ask for name & email.
Then make sure your freebie is really valuable.

Earlier, I mentioned a small price product... you said your mobile website was this.
My low price product is $19.95
    My mid-range is $495
Then my consulting starts at $5k per month

    Then I have another product.
    Same setup, except its $10k.

I also have a group coaching that I sell down the line.
I sell that to everyone as its only $197/month.
I first want to give them the opportunity to go through the funnel.

Before, I would just go for the consulting.
I would much rather have people in my pipeline.

perfect, the exact system I spoke of.

My budget is pretty decent, enough that I want everything done professionally and correctly.

Do you find that a short sales page is more effective? I was thinking along the lines of a simple, short page with strong headlines and a single strong image as a focal point.

You really won't know until you test. Even if he says a shorter lander is better, there are examples where a longer lander is better. So you're going to need to test both against each other and see what the numbers say. Good luck!

Brainstorming today I decided I'm going to just make two separate landing pages to split test.
