Easier way of getting a list of prospects

Hi Offine Troopers

Is there an easier way of getting a list of prospects (with web address and phone) than doing what I'm currently doing and that's searching for a niche (e.g electricians) in Yell.com for each given area. I find it quite time consuming doing this. I know you can buy lists but I think that tends to be quite expensive???

Cheers
Phil

You may want to look at Places Scout. I believe it has some functions that will help you find businesses that may need what you're selling.

I'd stay away from infousa. Every list I've bought from there has been garbage.

My best lists have been obtained from industry publications. Find people who send those guys mail and contact them. Nearly all of them will rent or sell you the contact info.

One of my target industries has a publication that sends me new business openings once a month. Each list has 200-300 prospects. I only pay $297/yr for the service.

Have you sold to a single business in the selected niche?

I'd take the top 3 prime candidates and approach them first. You sell one guy in the niche, prove the
service, and the rest will fall in line pretty easily.
