Soliciting orders from a classified or 1" ad

I believe it is possible to solicit orders (say, $12) from a 1" ad if the product being offered doesn't require a lot of explanation. "ie: Headline, Learn X for $12 complete guaranteed" Send $12 to...

And - I know for a fact that you can solicit Cash orders from classified ads if there is enough information. The trick is to get a really good price per word in a niche magazine that has a decent circulation. I have successfully solicited $12 orders directly from a $60 classified ad, and made a ton of money on my back end.

Traditional marketing wisdom dictates that a classified or 1" ad requires that a 2-step method be used (write for free info, send detailed flyer), and while this most certainly IS sage advice and is generally TRUE, I've always looked upon soliciting orders directly from a small or classified ad as a challenge.

    Jinx,

A 60.00 calssified ad ? Is that in a magazine, trade, or newspaper. That seems pretty cheap for a magazine ad.

If the choice is between a 1" display ad, and a classified ad...take the display ad, and don't let them place it in the classifieds. In any media like newspapers or magazines...only a small percentage of readers will look at the classifieds at all. Why limit your results?

that being said, If your offer looks like a bargain, and is easily explained, use classifieds too...yes, in the same magazine (or newspaper)

What if they're not stars? What if they are holes poked in the top of a container so we can breath?
