How to stop spam without captcha?

I want to keep the forms short and to stop spammers from using my site without the CAPTCHA.
Sometimes I find CAPTCHA very annoying and actually a little disappointing which requires the user to waste his time to prove himself human.

What should i do to stop spam without CAPTCHA

    Depends on the type of spam... if it's form spam, like xrumer and scrapebox type stuff, but the idiots are spamming "blog comments" through your contact form, then just create a new contact page with the nofollow noindex tag.

    You can disable comment, so that you wont get any spam or just use social media comment.

    The solution is to use invisible capthca, its not a new idea, but a useful one that has fallen out of favor over time and is often overlooked.

    I think no way to pass it. Because it is perform you that you are a human or another. It just increase your perform. All forum want here without spam.. When you pass those captcha test then you are select a human otherwise you are spam.. And get banned. SO i think it is not lifted..

        Okay i will try it next. I see it bio chronometric technology.. I hope it will works good. But i think it should be reduce our security between human or human less. I think captcha using just prove human boot..

    I like "playthru" verification. They use it on blackhatworld, and some other sites. There's a demo here.

    Basically, you play a SHORT game to prove you're human, so it removes some of the stress/annoyance associated with captcha.

    Dunno how much it costs though.

      It might work better with a real mouse, but I just tried this on my laptop with the trackpad and I thought it was more annoying than a regular captcha. Interesting idea, though.

    When compared to some of the other options available, I have found CAPTCHA to be one of the least intrusive. Yes there are other options available, but some of those are so complex that it has literally prevented me from signing up to a forum before. If your spam prevention is making me rethink wanting to join the conversation, something is amiss.
