Billing and invoices processor

Hello,

I was using Quickbooks to bill my clients, but had a problem today. The problem was they wanted to verify one client who had just paid me to make sure there was no fraud...which is fine.

But when the lady had me on the phone she got to asking me what I did, and as it turns out Quickbooks hate SEO people, so they force-closed my account.

So I need something that allows me to do the following, and would appreciate any suggestions.

1) Bill clients

2) Allow clients to pay via credit card

Please do not reply and tell me to use PayPal. I have one client who can not figure out their system, and who the hell am I to force him to use something that he can't use. Besides, I don't like paying them those ridiculous fees anyway.

A bonus will be if I can set up email reminders for when their invoice is due, and another bonus would be if I can track expenses vs incoming.

Thank you,

Wally

    Hey Wally,

I also used to use Quickbooks...simply had more functionality than I need. So several months ago I switched over to Zoho Invoice. I think its a sweet system, it does everything related to invoicing, estimating and quoting, and more. When a client gets an invoice (by email) they click on a link and pay via authorize.net or by paypal, or they can mail you a check. Works great for me. www.zoho.com/invoice

      Thank you!

I didn't need half of what they had either, and they were real jerks when they just shut me down today for no reason.

I will try Zoho, thanks a ton for the tip!

Freshbooks is also an alternative, only gripe is that the android app wont allow me to set up a client with recurring payments (its possible on the full site, however). Works with Auth.net and Paypal and is free for your first 3 clients

Can you explain why you got the boot from Quickbooks? What part of your business did they not like?

      Hey,

Yea I have no idea. The lady called me after I had sent them the information they requested to make sure my payment that my client sent to me wasn't fraud.

She then said something like "So you do SEO services" and I said yes. Then she said something to the effect of "Our sponsors don't allow us to take on SEO businesses, we are closing your account right now good bye"

      So that was fun.

I'm using wave accounting these days - integrates nicely for credit cards with stripe

+1 for Zoho. I used it for a few years when I started up my current business (though as we've grown we migrated to QB a couple of years ago).

It did everything I needed and more, and was very reasonable.
