Picture in search result?

I just signed up a personal injury attorney and I am thinking about proposing having their picture added to the site. Does the site have to be wordpress to implement this?

I don't believe so, but I only have experience with WP.
I imagine it is easier through WP as well.
Isn't it just a line or two of code for the authorship...?

    No it doesn't.

Just google. Google authorship, it's a fairly easy process.

You essentially just have to link to their G+ and vice versa and then tell google you've done it via a simple web form.

Just FYI it's an excellent proposal, my site is in position 3 for a rather prominent keyword and has my lovely face next to it, whereas position 1 and 2 don't according to webmasters tools I get a 50% Ctr which means that my face is making people click my result rather than the ones above it.

Been implementing this with clients sites in relevant industries for a while now.

No guarantee that they will get their profile pic next to their site in the search results. Even though Google promotes Authorship they have also tried to cut down on that to some extent.

For me it only seems to work on certain articles and it doesn't show up all the time. You have to have a strong Google+ profile/account, all the appropriate code added, verified, and be putting out content on a regular basis otherwise Google will ignore showing your picture.
