I have always used just simple boiler plate contracts I have found on the internet (I do web design/programming/hosting for clients). Now that my projects are getting into the 10k - 20k+ range I feel I need a better general contract to cover my ass.

I am hoping to get a lawyer to make me a contract that I can use for all clients. Hopefully it could be all encompassing, covering all the services I provide (ie: just sign once at the beginning of business relationship, and any future projects would be covered under it). This would specifically be a general liability type contract.

So the question. I was searching online trying to find a local lawyer to do this. What kind of lawyer would I be looking for?

EDIT: Looking in Vancouver, Canada

Talk to kindsvater here on WF. If he can't do it, he probably knows someone.

You should search for Intellectual and IP property attorneys. Most of them will know how to help you draw up something more specific and deal with clients who do commerce over the internet and provide services/software etc via the internet as well.

Andrew, congratulations on the big contracts. How do you meet clients for projects that large if you dont mind me asking. I am considering a larger project here in the future.
