Created Google Brand before Local

I didn't think that I wanted a Google Plus Local Page for my business since I have no physical location so I created a Google Brand Page.

What I should of done is created a Google Plus Local/Places page for a service area (no address), then created the Brand Page.

Do I have to delete the Brand page or is there any way to add Local Pages now?

Thanks

What page type did you choose for the brand page? Did you select the Local type or did you choose the Company type?

If you selected the company type in the middle there's no need to delete it. Those pages don't show up in the SERPs and I haven't seen that they interfere with the Local types at all, but Linda may have a different experience than me there.

But please note that if your business doesn't have a physical address you can't create a local page. If you have a location but it's a house or you're a service area business (or both), then you can create one but you'll have to hide the address as you've said.

    • Ditto, ditto, correct on all counts.

Except want to add this. Having an address you can list that's your home address is fine IF you see clients in person, like a plumber who goes out to service clients.

But if you don't see customers in your local area in person and are an online only business for instance then you don't qualify for a Google+ Local page at all.

I did pick the company type in the middle, when you say those pages don't show up in the SERPs. If I post to the Brand page daily, will that page help with Local Rankings though? I know it isn't a local page but know that if you post to your Google Brand/For Business page that it should help with authority/rankings.

        Thanks
