Email Marketing: What Service do you use for yourself/clients?

Curious what service you are using for email marketing for yourself and also your clients.

And if you are managing clients emails are you having them pay for the service directly or including it in your fees?

"Your Mailing List Provider" lots of reasons I like them.
If you're interested let me know, I have an affiliate link where we both save money.

Constant Contact. I'm a partner with them.

I make the client buy their own account and give me access to it. Much cleaner that way.

I totally agree with this, but as for the email service I gotta go with nameless on this one. MailChimp is perfect for offline businesses. But constant contact is a good runner up. Awebber is what I use for my IM stuff, but all of my offline lists are managed with mail chimp.

We use Getresponse, Aweber and a few others.

If you're just getting going, I recommend going with Getresponse as they're more IM friendly.

As long as you aren't an affiliate marketer, MailChimp is the way to go, the highest delivery rates in the industry and they don't require a double opt in, or even a single opt in, so if you do trade shows, have people sign up in a store, you can add it with no hassle.

Aweber, and getresponse, are better for internet marketers.

If you are extremely savvy, you can just get a dedicated server with a few dedicated IPs and use phplist. That's good for high volume like 1M+ emails.

If you use a service, always keep your customer accounts separate.

Mailchimp. It's just the best web-based email marketing service; I'm shocked none of the big commerce guys or indeed search engines/portals haven't bought them yet.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I couldn't find an affiliate program for MailChimp. Call me a capitalist but I prefer cash to in-store credits.

      Cheers,

Yeah, I don't think they have an affiliate program. Still, the software is really good.

Since you're an affiliate manager at Get Response, I'd expect you to point out what you see as flaws. However, I think it gives much more power to be recommending a service that has no affiliate program, where there is no conflict of interest.

If you're an affiliate marketer, there's no reason to use mailchimp anyway, they don't like affiliate marketers.

However, for someone like me, who spends a lot of money with Mail Chimp... If I were to be an affiliate or refer someone, the money off my monthly bill is just as good as cash.

I canceled my Getresponse a long time ago and now use Mailchimp.

They have very solid list segmentation features.

I used mailchimp because they are free. Here is there free subscriber's slogan "If you have fewer than 2,000 subscribers, you can send up to 12,000 emails per month absolutely free. No expiring trial, contract, or credit card required."

Hey, we all use mailchimp as well. For 2 reasons, firstly it links directly into our wordpress gravity forms plugin, and second, it's reports on how well the email was received offer great insight for the clients. Mailchimp offers a free service for up to 2000 mail contacts on lists, and limited emails per month, so if you are getting started, it's a great option, and you can just charge your clients for your management time then.

I have affiliates who do it both ways.

I would caution against is having all of your clients on one account with a list per client. If one of your clients gives you a bad list and gets in trouble with compliance, then all of your clients have problems with compliance.

If you set up each client with their own account one clients bad list (Oh I didn't know you can't use purchased lists) won't impact all your other clients.

Some affiliates set up the free trial for the client and then get the client to upgrade. Of course they use their affiliate link to do this.

If you want to pay for the accounts yourself, contact the affiliate manager directly to make sure that sales to yourself qualify for commission.

    Good luck,

    Mick

I use Getresponse. I do like that they integrate nicely with most programs. Not crazy about the lack of style in the forms, however. I use this for online marketing though. I agree with MailChimp for offline. I am not currently using them but I have in the past.

It really all depends on what the client's email marketing goals are. We use MailChimp for most of our clients. Most of them are small businesses that will never hit MailChimp's 2000 subscriber free account limit. Recommending MailChimp makes me look like I provide extra value by thinking about the client's bottom line. Win, win!

I'm new about email marketing and I have a quick question about MailChimp.

MailChimp only up to 2,000 subscribers right? So that means you can only send 12,000 emails per month to only that 2,000 subscribers, am I right? Can I sent 12,000 emails per month to 12,000 email addresses? It's for Internet marketing purposes...

The "Free" account is up to 2k subscribers and up to 12k emails in total per month.

So basically up to 6 times a month to your list.

After that they have paid accounts.

No, you can't do that. That just for 2k subscribers. But MailChimp's Forever Free
Plan doesn't have Autoresponder feature. So if you want to make an Autoresponder you have to upgrade to paid plan first.
