Hello warriors

Where do you find sales people who can handle incoming inqueries from very interested prospects and who are able to close.

After many weeks of posting on freelance boards all I found is people who want to cold call without any interest in trying to close

so I'm hoping for some advice on how to find the right people for this task

Everyone "sucks" on the phone when they start out. It's not a skill we're born with, and I don't understand why people think because they were born with a brain and a mouth they ought to automatically be good at selling.

As a business owner, you had better learn how to sell. Otherwise you won't last.

Agree with Jason, calling skills are developed in time. Unless you get the courage to call and sell you will never be good. As the owner, you know your company well and should be the best closer.

  • If you are in the US, I used Craigslist (Outside the US, find a job board, or actually now you can find them in hoards on Linkedin). Post looking for closers, not telemarketers. Let them know in the title that leads from inbound calls are provided. If possible, offer a starting salary plus commission (I did salary for 30 days to get them started). Pay well. Right now you may be making nothing, so do not be greedy. And offer a Telesales management position if they perform, and want the role.

If you find the right person, they will not only make you sales, but build your sales staff so you can focus 100% on your business.

Go to thetelemarketingforum.com. It's great! John, the owner, is a member here and has put out a number of great WSOs. Recommend joining the Gold membership.

    Good luck!

It is hard if you hire someone for cold calling but they don't have the interest to close the deal. I think maybe you can try to offer some extra incentive if they close the deals. In the meantime, I suggest you to learn and improve your skills on the phone.

It's true! Nobody is perfect on the phone, but we learn and grow. It's all a part of the process. By growing and learning, you too can get better when cold calling or talking on the phone in general regardless on whether it is a cold call or not.

If you have good quality leads coming in I should be able to find someone for you
who'll do a great job handling them (there are plenty of capable people at
    Offlinebiz.com.

But before that I'd need to know more about you, what you're doing, your

You would probably be better off improving your skills on the phone if you plan on sticking with this style of business. No one you hire out will have the passion, belief or excitement about the product/service you currently have. I know using the phone can be scary and overwhelming, but it is an easy skill to develop with practice.

Your struggling to find solid people to do the phone calls for you because they will strictly do it for the $$ you pay them. They are not directly connected to the outcome nor are they concerned about connecting the benefits your service to the people who need them.

What is your biggest struggle on the phone? Hopefully we can help you overcome those struggles and get you rockin the phone like a champ.

Here are few blog post with videos that will help you phone skills.

Please let me know what you are struggling most with and I will do my best to help.

  • Abdoue,

Before contracting your business sales and support processes to subcontractors, more so to local or overseas independent subcontractors and freelancers (not local or overseas BPO companies) -- You and your associates (partners, consultants and employees) should formulate processes that have been tested to be fully working in terms of providing you with the results that you want. Aside from the main set of tasks that you need done for you, these processes also include task delegation, time tracking, performance evaluation and daily / weekly / monthly reporting systems...

I hear people say "I suck on the phone" But the fact that you are on the phone should help you because you can't be seen and you can create a character ( guru, closer etc.) You can get creative with pauses, inflections, tone, humor etc.

Can you sell in person? On the phone, with Copy? It's all about selling, talking, listening, convincing and more!

If can't sell on the phone you can't sell period!

    Just my opinion!!

Before you hire someone I'd suggest having a script that kind of works for you already. Get to know your customer, the key words that trigger reactions to them, ect. When you do hire your telemarketer, they'll be able to modify your script based on their experience but having that critical first step is really important. Only you know your customer better than anyone and I've found that taking a first pass at the script, making 1000 calls and adapting to it, works best.
