I personally have started a "Class" a few months ago at the local coffee shop. I basically hang out for 3 hours every Wednesday drink coffee, and help who ever walks through the door. And in some cases there have been enough people for me to make a presentation.

Its been really good for business, and its a good form of support to those that i have built for in the past. And basically mixing past happy customers with new potential customers is always a good thing!

And yes sadly enough the event is called WordPress Wednesday! haha

Your event name is clever, albiet maybe commonly-used. It sounds like a catchy way to attract local people.

Boost Software teamed up with Neverblue. They helped produce this new affiliate video.

Talk to your local community college. Might be a way to partner up.

Start a Meetup group and network that way or rent a room that the local recreation center and put a sign out on the street advertising your Wordpress Class.

thanks for the ideas I have a plan but what I am looking for is course material. I'm trying to avoid having to create everything.

    I'm looking for
    workbook with assignments
    textbook covering topics
videos but not a complete course on video
something you would get if you went to a community college

Here is the "Issue" with WordPress Course material. Other than the absolute basics... creating pages installing plugins etc the rest can and is Theme specific. How you get to the Custom CSS box in one theme is not how you would in another.

An example would be the Mystile Dashboard as compared to the Virtue Dashboard. For that matter between the 2 Virtue has far more built in control vs Mystile. The flip side of that is Mystile has far more ability to be customized with CSS etc.

I am sure somewhere in all of that is a "Universal" platform to teach from, just not so sure how in depth you could get.
