Cold calling lead lists

I have a cold caller that is starting next week setting appointments for web design and seo. Is there any particular software you would recommend to formulate a list of 1000-2000 local companies and business owners?

    without a doubt. InfoUsa. Or go for a free source with the same info. ReferenceUSA.

    You can filter businesses by so many different things to really laser target.

    Fastest: buy via InfoUSA.com or Hoovers.
    Slower but cheaper: pay someone in the Phillipines to build a list for you like I do. I'm paying about $0.15 per lead for them to build a highly targeted list, and I haven't even streamlined his operation yet. Versus paying $0.45 per lead or more via InfoUSA. All depends on how much you have available and what targeting you need.
