I Need To Learn How To Get Clients

I am looking for a recommended course on offline client acquisition.

1. The course needs to be affordable.
2. It needs to be able to put into action in a few days. I do realize there will be a lifetime learning process.
3. It should be able to guide me on cold calling, getting past gate keepers and how to show the value I will bring and then allow the client to make the offer.
4. It should discuss qualifying clients.
5. It should discuss other means of contacting prospects such as mailers, email, etc.

Depends what you're selling, and your personality. I don't know of any courses per se, but if you're just starting out, I'd recommend finding ONE simple process, and sticking at it until it works. And then expand out into different techniques.

If you're trying to cold call, email, do direct mail etc... You might spread yourself too thin.

I do have a simple process that I've been using for getting new clients quickly (not the one in my sig). It also helps you to get around, or overcome some of the problems that you mentioned, such as getting past gate-keepers, and how to qualify your clients.

It also makes your clients much more profitable. If you wanna know a bit more detail, PM me, and we can have a chat on skype.

It's not top secret stuff, but I just can't be bothered to write it all down, because I'm a bit of a rambler, and I don't want to hijack your thread lol.

Jason always makes great posts. I really do think that the goal at this point in time is to get yourself wet by learning from trial and error, whether that means on your own or through a program.

The key as a beginner is to get yourself started, and then to continue the basics of selling. When I sold my first service and landed my first client, I had already contacted a lot of companies and have tried countless times to get myself started.

Continue reading, and you'll find there is a lot of free info to be found on here!

Much of finding new clients depends on your own Online Branding. Most business owners are savvy now and will perform their due diligence and check out your website/blog/social media. No point in looking for clients until you address what your company looks like in their eyes first, I feel you would just be wasting your time and effort. :-)

I want to add to what I said earlier in the thread.

In that "Feedback after 2-1/2 years" post I linked to above, I mention you need marketing collateral to attract and keep big projects. That is the "pre-proof" if you will that you can do the job.

You can develop that as you go, but do it intelligently. Not just a little bit of marketing here and a little bit there (this is very common, and makes a mess.) Formulate an inbound marketing plan. It has attract prospects, educate them on who you are and what you do, filter them for Fit, and then convert them into customers.

Some parts of this process could be videos and pdfs, Amazon/Kindle books or an email series. Other parts could be a webinar or phone conversation. But it all has to work together. If you have a little piece here and another piece over there, it won't add up to anything.

This is what sdentrepreneur, who knows what he's talking about, might have been getting at. I'll wait for confirmation...

Yes, Jason, you can develop it as you go....maybe take on a family member as your first client? This will give you some experience to add to your online resume. Also....you need to become your first client, what would you do if you hired yourself?

I feel Offline Marketing is one of the hottest careers to be in right now. I attend many business mixers and start up company events, they all need help with SEO, Search and Social Media Marketing.

      Boom....
