Tear Sheets Done Right

I've gone through these discussions on Warrior Forum:

http://www.warriorforum.com/offline-...il-tricks.html

I've also searched on Google for how to use tear sheets/J-letter properly.

However, I have some mindset trouble with using it.

Even if I mail it out with half-decent copy and a handwritten posted note using a No. 10 envelope, how likely am I going to run the risk of the prospect saying no to my offer to the next step (b/c of how deceptive it is - a sales letter in a magazine/newsletter looking paper) where they wouldn't have otherwise with just a normal sales letter?

Or am I just worrying too much?

    Stan,

No one here can tell you if your mailer will work.
    1. We don't what it looks like.
    2. We don't know what it says.
3 We don't even know who you are sending them to.

At the end of the day, you're gonna have to "test it" if you really want to KNOW if it will work, Stan. That's the only way.

    Good Luck!

Stan, the tearsheet is only there to support the rest to what you have in the envelope.

This can be done to show you have been featured in the media,
so it creates a bit of authority.

I don't think it's deceptive, it's creative & a great way to get your foot in the door. Just don't be deceptive with the content you choose for the tear sheet. But more importantly.... Now that you have their attention - what are you going to do with it?
