What if they're not stars? What if they are holes poked in the top of a container so we can breath?

Get a job selling someone else's service to business owners. Make sure that company is currently making lots of sales. You need to learn how the process works.

Why would you want to do this if you have no budget and nothing to offer? That's not how business works.

Don't worry about learning how to create/deliver the service (e.g. web design, SEO, PPC etc). There are already tons of "technicians".

    And guess what.

You don't get paid for knowing how to build a website, or deliver a service.

You get paid for SELLING them.

The skill that most people lack is that of CONNECTING the product to the target market. AND portraying its VALUE to the client.

This, is what you need to learn.

Don't waste the next year learning wordpress.

USE the next year learning how to probe your prospect's minds to find out what they're gonna pay $5,000+ for. Then you can go pay someone $1,000 to do it.

And as Claude said, go work for someone who's already doing it successfully as you learn.

It's easy to sell people... What you're describing can easily be taken the wrong way by some beginner with hopes and dreams of being their own boss but their name is the one that will be dragged through the mud when a customer is unhappy.

Use the next year learning how to be valuable, have systems in place, and be able to offer that value to businesses.

The worst mistake I made was focusing too much on selling instead of making sure the client was not just satisfied but so blown away that they became a cheerleader.

Selling is easy... but in order to worry about making sales you need to have something worth selling.

Well to be honest, having something worth selling is a given. That's why I mentioned working out what clients value.

I thought I'd implied that whatever you deliver has to actually deliver that value, but I do agree that it could be taken wrongly by some people who'd think they can promise the client the world, and deliver them crap.

I knew what you meant, but you'd be surprised how the minds work of others who see rainbows, unicorns, and a pot of gold with flawless women dancing topless on top of it.

I'm not sure the OP knew that having something worth selling is kind of mandatory lol.

Get skills. It isn't complicated. It is hard work, but the process is simple.

Get a job and kick ass at it. Work harder than you ever imagined you could. Learn to be excellent. Sorry but if you have made it to adulthood without gaining some skills....you have been lazy and a change of mind is required.

Adopt an arm's reach rule....anything within arm's reach of you should be excellent. It starts in your personal life and continues to your professional life. Look around you right now...is it shitty or excellent?

If it isn't excellent...start making it better.

Get a job and work so hard that everything you touch turns to gold.

Forget about the pie in the sky dreams for now. The pie in the sky will only make you hungry. You have to get skilled enough to build a staircase so you can climb up to it.

That takes time, exceptional focus, hard work, and the discipline to form excellent habits that take you where you want to be.

A very simple plan. It isn't complicated, but you have to work HARD at it.

      .
      Well said.

And if you have the nerve, work for a company providing services you want to sell, be the "go to guy" for fixing problems, let your customers know you are going tee extra mile for them....

And in a year or so? Start your own business, and your best customers will follow you.

      There is no downside.

And if you don't want to do this, just buy online marketing services wholesale and mark them up. but starting with a job is the smart way.
