Want To Know Who's Opening Your Emails?

Hey Warriors,

I've been using this hefty online app that installs right into google chrome and into your gmail account.

Essentially it tells you who opens your emails every time you send them out, it even tells you what time, and how many times they've opened the email that you sent to them.

This is great, and it's a wonderful way to know if you need to follow up again with your clients, or your prospects.

I highly recommend it, and I know you're going to find a tremendous amount of value with this app.

Download it here -- http://www.getsignals.com/

Make the rest of your life, the best of your life,
Michael

Signals has helped me a lot too, great tool. Especially when leads have gone cold and open up an older email then you randomly follow up with them minutes later lol.

I am using it in gmail as well and like it... but do the people who read your emails get notification that you got a read receipt?

Just downloaded it... Pretty cool software.

It uses a pixel. It's basically a tiny (invisible) image, stored on "signal's" server. Your recipient needs to "view images" of your email before it will work.

Once they view the image, their computer is technically "visiting" signal's website to download the pixel. This means that signal can collect the usual data that a website can collect from a visitor.

This includes IP address (which they can use to estimate location), and the time that they "visited" (which is the time that they viewed the "image" in the email).

It's the same method that aweber uses to count opens, so if they open the email without viewing images, then you won't get the notification.

So it's a great tool, but it's not 100% accurate...

So don't start calling people liars when they said that they opened your email, and you didn't get a notification lol

The same goes for locations... If someone is using something to change their IP - e.g. a proxy or VPN, the location on signal may be untrue. So if you wanna fake a holiday, just change your IP to one in the Bahamas =).

      Thanks for the share thesecret2marketing

I've used it in the past ... awesome tool when you can put it to work!

As for them knowing, that you know, that they read it (god that sounds awkward when typed out, lol) I don't believe that it sends them any notification or anything of the sort. I am not currently using it, but when I did, that was my experience.

Ok, well I am not sure either... it did just tell me where my friend sent the email from... a location in UK where he does not normally go - I emailed him back telling him I hope he was having a good time there.....

this could be a real problem for people who are in places they are not meant to be in..... hmmmmmmmm

That doesn't mean much - as far as "where it came from," that is. I'm sure they;re using some IP tracking technology - whether from his computer or from his email service, or something else.

Unless it's GPS based (which I don't believe it is, but I could be mistakin') it probably isn't accurate.

Many of the mail services talked about often on this site will also let you know when and if an email was opened ... and I can confirm the recipient doesn't know you know they opened it. (These services are why I no longer use the plugin)

I wouldn't worry about it honestly. Even if they did know when/where it was or wasn't opened, I have a hard time believing that has any bearing on marketing effectiveness.
