I plan on importing some outdoor equipment that a higher end/ well-to-do homeowners would like. Right now Im going door to door at 6-8pm trying to sell it (since people have jobs), they think its a great idea and looks beautiful and nothing like they have seen here in the US. A couple of folks say they will call me to get more information. How else can I market this? Should I go to an outdoor retail store and pitch them something? maybe exterior designers? As of right now, I can only contact homeowners when they get back from work on weekdays - 6-8pm which is only 2 hours. I cant do much. What's another way?

You are here on a Internet Marketing forum! Start promoting it with your own website. Build a list to promote new equipment over and over to them. Other ways to promote it would be Craigs List and for sure if you have a budget Facebook ads and maybe adwords.
I also sold a lot of stuff in the past over ebay! Maybe worth to have a look at it.

Perhaps a mailing (postcard or otherwise) targeted to specifically affluent zip codes would help. Or maybe there are some local newspapers or micro newspapers that target those areas that you could advertise in. You could possibly demo your product at stores as well. Maybe partner up with high end car dealerships, jewelry stores, etc. and offer one as a prize of some sort in exchange for exposure.

Make sure you collect the details of the people who are interested. 9 times out of 10, they won't call you back, even if they are genuinely interested. So it will be your job to follow up. If you can collect enough of these leads, you could easily keep communicating by postcard (if your profit per sale warrants it).

What kind of profit do you make per sale?
