How Can I Ask For Testimonials?

OFFLINE MARKETING

I have a website selling a specific offline service and I'd like to get testmonilas from my clients. I don't know how to ask or where to start. Do I approach the client directly?
I thought of offering to put a photo and a link to the client's website to get the testimonials. Will this work?
I just want to request a testimonial without sounding demanding or ask for it in a cheap way.
Any suggestion?

If you're providing your clients with value, they will have no problem leaving you a testimonial. Just email them and ask... don't over think this

You don't get what you don't ask for, so just ask them!

If they loved your services then most people won't have any problems giving you a testimonial.

Also, the best time to ask is after your clients has purchased something from you and like what you've done.

You may want to create some a questionnaire with specific questions for your clients to answer, that why they don't just say, "Services were great." They need to be specific and show results!

Yes, just ask! You can tell them you are launching a new service or you are expanding your website to include testimonials and you wondered if they would contribute a testimonial.

It's pretty simple, write a insightful and attractive email. You can ask them directly but if you'd write a good email and then ask them it will leave a good impression. I've been doing graphics and article writing and i asked my clients for testimonials by leaving good emails.

To add to the above insightful recommendations for consideration I'd like to add that you should build this into the front-end/early stage of every piece of work that you do, fee-less and paid.

To this day, one of the methods we use in both non-fee attracting and paid work is getting an agreement for a testimonial upfront. If the work is at no cost e.g. in order to expand reach within an area or demographic it's what they 'pay' in effect.

When the work is paid, it's part of the setup and delivery arrangement.

The hard bit for many people is actually asking in person (which is much more effective than asking via email or other means).

Honestly, just offer them a link back to their site that paints them in a positive light. It's as simple as that!
