Need Help Ranking A Client In A City He Is Not Located In

I have a client (a florist) who noticed that a nearby city no longer has a retail florist and of course he would love to get business from that area.

I would love to get some feedback on what you guys think is the best way to go about pulling in some traffic from this other city.

I appreciate any help you can offer....Thanks!

Russ is right. You could also do companyname.com/city as well. Then you could attach a Google My Business Page/Google Plus Local Page to each additional city/page.

Is that within G's guidelines for G+ pages? I thought you could only do one page for each brick & mortar location. If that is within their guidelines, then I've been missing out on some things.

I've always done: domain.com/service-areas/location for my clients.

Do what Kendev suggests. it really is that easy. I do exactly that withy garage flooring business. whenever I want to add a new city nearby that is EXACTLY what I do. And it usually ranks me on the first page with 24 hours. many times within just a few hours. a friend of mine in the garage floor business as well didn't believe I could do this. He lives clear on the other side of Atlanta than I do. O got off the phone with him and added a page to my service area and SEO'd a page with his home town as the target. In 90 minutes it was on big G page one. Told him to google our main search phrase for his town and he was surprised and angry at me at the same time. that's all you have to do for your client. can't guarantee a fast listing in the SERPS like I got but I pretty much dominate my area for my search terms for my offline business. Good Luck.

Why would this be outside of Googles guidelines?

      www dot companyname dot com/Atlanta
www dot companyname dot com/Las Vegas

Then create a Google My Business Page for each city as long as you have a phone number & address in that city.

Firstly, make a website for his business if you want to generate business through internet. Then you have to do local listing for your business. It will be highly helpful to generate business from targeted area. Then try to submit information of your business on local domain site and other also through which user come to your site.
