A real life live prospect case, if you are for real, then so is this thread

How many FB likes should a well established (30 years trading, 25 years in the same location) jeweller in a good city centre retail location , how many likes do you think they should have on FB and how much engagement do you think they should be getting on their FB page?

350 likes is nowhere near enough IMO and the odd reply to their 2 or 3 times a weeks photo posts isn't good enough.
yet they have a rating of 5 from only 15 reviews though.

A great prospect IMO , scope for massive improvement , clearly have a decent sized client base already that theyre possibly under utilising big time, im on the case
#engagement #likes

How about figuring out how to get them more customers, instead of more likes? More customers = more revenue$$$. More likes = ????

How about figuring out a promotion for the current client base, to get them to come back in and $pend?

      digi,

actually developing social will do just that. it implants the company name and message with every image and every post. It also with the right material creates brand SHARING and in real world terms that becomes advertising, and what does advertising do? it brings dollars through the door.

Social media is a process, shares and likes are a part of that process. to get these organically is the same as getting organic web traffic, a pain in the butt, but worth it in the end.

      Mjb,

to be honest I like to get the likes into the 1000 range ( for creditability factors. ) One thing I could suggest for a jeweler is to do some really quick videos on how to clean rings and the like. Added value with possible youtube traffic and plausible good share ability with facebook. Another option would be articles on the same type of subjects.

One subject I found that worked well in this market was pointing out jewelry options for the more active life style. IE Watches with "Better" clasps than others or shatterproof models. harder metal rings for men such as titanium etc.

Most importantly however is how to create "shareable" content. I suggest looking to pinterest to get an idea... and be sure to tag each image with the facebook name and web address!

I like the video ideas thanks, Im gonna be setting up some contests for them to bring in more followers and get them into their new opt in email/SMS channels that I will be setting up, and convert the 3-5 winners to long term faithful instant customers and the '000s of runners up will be sent a special time limited offer to come in a spend some £££ (Im in UK) and be invited to all share their pre/ current and post purchase experiences and so influence others to pay them a visit too.

They'll be a customer photo contest, show us you in your jewellery in your finest garb, special setting, special moment etc etc , exciting times ahead for sure.

And once they enjoy the rewards from these two quick win strategies they'll be hooked on SM and hopefully hooked on me ;-)

        All the best

yeh funnily enough that's what I do!

To be fair I see a lot of your posts and I know totally that you are switched on heavily to bringing in the cash for clients so yeh I get your reply and totally agree and that is what I am going to do and what I was getting at in my thread (maybe you have to read between the lines a bit to see that but that's how I write, I dont spoon feed info ).

For me the more likes they have helps spreads their message further meaning they get more visitors, more engagement more clients . I did mention the under utilised client base and lack of engagement , I know what Im doing but was just interested in the numbers that people like to go for. eg some wouldn't touch a client with less than xxxx likes, others would love the challenge to get the likes up from xxx to xxxxx

I just opened up discussion as theres a lot of certain types of threads on here but very little actual live ongoing here and now lets make a difference type of discussions, and whilst Im not looking to be spoon fed ,Im happy to be in a discussion surrounding it and Id never say no to any advice.

They've been trading a long time, well established, well liked clearly from the small number of reviews on FB though more are found elsewhere, so for me theyre a great opportunity to do what I like to do and that's build them up where they are lacking backed by their excellent existing history and local reputation , theyre on FB and other SM platforms so they must value them but theyre not doing the business there and so the potential is huge and for me that's more exciting than a business that is already doing it on SM .

And this is more a thread to discuss this amongst us offliners (rather than in the SM forum where they only seem interested in buying followers) where we deal with real life bricks and mortar businesses and I'd truly welcome more of your feedback as I know from previous you do seriously have a lot to offer , thank you
