Marriage Advice Online - Advice To Make Your Marriage Great Again

I registered it in August '09 and have put a lot of time and effort into it. Everything from how it looks, to the on and off page SEO and the content has been treated with great care. I'm going to provide screenshots of traffic, rankings and earnings below, but first I'm going to go into just why this will be a great investment for you.

You probably don't need me to go into the current divorce statistics. Marriages are breaking up all around us, and are leaving a trail of heartbreak and devastation behind. Often, a marriage breaks up simply because the couple just doesn't know how to fix things. They don't know what they want, they don't know what they need, and above all, they can't communicate properly with their partner.

As someone that has been married nearly 8 years, I know that when things get tough, it can be incredibly stressful and lonely. Not knowing how to move forward can also be very painful and depressing. Counseling can be daunting, and expensive too. Being able to look online, and find a resource that can help you understand why things are the way they are, and how you can move forward to ensure that your marriage will become stronger than ever can provide great comfort.

This is one of the reasons we(myself and my wife) created Marriage Advice Online. Another reason was that we felt society and the media were gradually cheapening marriage and the family unit. We wanted this site to make a difference, even if it was just a minuscule one.

There are 21 completely unique articles on the site, some were written by my wife, but most by myself. I put a lot of time and effort into each one, and feel they are extremely helpful for those who are experiencing problems in their marriage, or simply want to improve things. They are mostly 500+ words, and cover the following topics:-

-Communication
-Intimacy
-Divorce
-Digital(Clickbank) Products
-Financial Problems
-Counseling

...and much more.

The site has been built with Wordpress, using 'magazine' theme WP_009. We used this theme because we wanted the site to look like a site rather than a blog. My wife(warrior AnnaHamer) customized a few things to make it look how we wanted it to. You will of course get the site exactly how it is, and we will be available to offer E-Mail/PM support if you have any questions or want to change anything.

OK, onto some numbers.

Traffic

Generally speaking, the site gets between 15 and 40 unique visitors every day. This is completely on autopilot too. The majority come from the search engines, but also from article directories and such too.

On average, the site has received around 530 visitors per month. However, in the last month(April 9 - May 9th) it has received 760. One of the reasons I'm selling the site, is because I'm not putting the time and effort into it any more due to other income avenues. I actually haven't actively promoted it since early March. 760 visitors in a month on autopilot isn't bad, I'm sure you'll agree.

As you can see, it has a very good bounce rate, and visitors tend to stay on the site quite a while. It's not uncommon for someone to be on the site for an hour plus reading all the info. We have built a list of around 70(the opt in form that is currently on there has only been on there since January) but due to rules and regulations, we can't offer this as part of the sale. However, we're pretty sure you will be able to put your own Aweber details in and have the same opt in form. I'll also be providing you with the autoresponder messages we have.

Earnings

The site has earned $424.10 so far, which works out at a little under $50 per month.

Another reason that I'm selling it, is because I know in the right hands, it can make a lot more than that. I have to hold my hands up and say that I haven't been consistent enough in terms of driving traffic to it. If you can drive consistent traffic to this site, I strongly believe you will earn some very good money with it.

SEO

I am a believer that good on page and off page SEO is vital for a site. I have put a lot of time into ensuring that this site is strong in both areas. My favorite on page SEO tool is Link Assistant's Website Auditor. It tells you how strong your site is in various on page areas. As you can see, this site is strong. I made sure of it.

It's stronger than all but one of the top 10 for marriage advice, which is the keyword I have optimized it for.

Off Page SEO

I believe in quality, diverse backlinking strategies. Yahoo site explorer shows 300 backlinks, but I have built at least 3 times that many, I would say. Here's a quick overview of the backlinking strategies I have employed over the last 9 months:-

-Submitted articles to the top article directories manually, and smaller ones with Article Bot
-Built web 2.0 properties
-Submitted site to RSS agreggators, both manually and with RSS Bot
-Submitted site to Directories with Directory Bot
-Submitted site, and all the inner pages to social bookmarking sites with Social Bot
-Submitted press releases to the top free press release sites, and some smaller ones too
-Built hundreds of high PR profile backlinks(I stopped doing this in November when the site got to page 1)
-Commented on blogs in the marriage/relationship niche

Search Engine Rankings

In Google, the site has moved around quite a bit recently. It held the number 7 position for a couple of weeks, but for the most part, it has held the number 12 spot since the latter part of 2009. The fact it has been as high as number 7 in Google for Marriage Advice shows how strong both the on page and off page SEO is. According to the Google keyword tool, marriage advice gets 18,100 searches per month. A number of the inner pages(articles) rank nicely in the SERPS too.

Here is where the site is in the SERPS for marriage advice as I write this:-

Google - 12
Yahoo - 7
Bing - 16

Of course, these results can vary depending on what browser you use, what country you are in and what rank checker you use. SEO Book Rank Checker tells me that it is 11 in Google, and when I go to Yahoo myself it's at 6.

Why am I selling it?

This is a very good question. As I said before, I haven't actively promoted the site for the last 2 months or so, and I haven't really realized the financial potential of the site. Also, I need the money for something specific. A quick sale would be great.

How much?

I've had a number of people show interest in the site as a result of this thread, and have been close to selling it, but a couple of potential buyers have been hesitant. As a result, I'm asking $650 and the first person to offer it - it's yours.

You are getting the domain(it needs renewed in August) and the site, plus the following:-

-Close to 50 existing EZA articles pointing to the site

Yes, the site will be transferred to you free of charge. Admittedly, this isn't something I've done before, but my host(Just Host) help with this, so it shouldn't be a problem at all
