Campaign on Misspelled Search Term Possible?

Is it possible to run an entire ads campaign on Bing/Adwords based on only misspelled search terms ?

Will my ads get approved? Any risk of disapproval or ban on Adwords or Bing?

My ads won't have misspelled words, I just want to target misspelled search terms as my keywords. Well, I know I am not going to get huge amount of clicks but I am okay with this. Just want to see if those misspelled keywords lower my CPC since they are not being targeted by most advertisers.

Help appreciated.

    Hi shimul0011,

That used to a method that was quite effective on AdWords. But then AdWords implemented the "close variants" feature and for a while you could disable it, but now you cannot. It can still be effective in some cases, you need to test it on a keyword by keyword basis.

There is really no need to create a separate campaign, you can simply create separate ad groups and use labels and/or filters for reporting.

You can also try using negative exact match keywords to force the separation of impressions within your campaign.

The real problem is that most advertisers you are competing with will not be separating their misspelled variants. Which means that their bids will be the same on the misspelled variants, and does nothing to help lower the CPC. The only advantage you have is if, and when, there is a difference in CTR or conversion rates you can adjust your bids while less advanced competitors are generally paying the same click costs as the correctly spelled keyword.

Years ago I owned the domain cregslist.net it made about $300 or so per month in various affiliate revenue before the rules changed. I ultimately had my adwords account closed because I paused rather than deleting them. At this point there are active defenses against it.

    Hi,
What you want to look into is redirect traffic for domain/keyword typos.
