Why Lead-Capture pages are better than direct linking

I've got about a $200 balance in my Bing Ads account from the sign up bonus and the godaddy coupon, and might be getting another $100 from the holiday promo and $50 for the Bing webmaster sign up promo (well, customer support is checking to see if I'm still able to get the other $150 but I'm sort of confident), and I plan on starting a campaign and am focused on success.
Lately I've been doing a lot of research in running a successful campaign mostly through reading many different threads her on warrior forum with the topic of Bing Ads, and I found that there certainly is potential.It's not like I will be paying for traffic from an ad network like 7search, which many of us know why. Bing Ads, I believe, has a system in place to detect bot traffic and suspend/ban accounts who do it.
So what I've learnt is that:
1. It's better to send traffic to a landing page first to build a list of quality leads. The reason is because you can continue to recommend offers to the list. And without sending them to a landing page, and directly to an affiliate page, you lose the chance of establishing trust and relationship with potential buyers.
The reason I underlined potential is because not all visitors are willing, ready and able to buy when they visit. If they aren't ready willing and able, they will possibly read and listen to all of the information and exit because either they need more information, they don't have the money, or the product isn't for them.
However, if you create a landing page with a lead form, and in the landing page it says something like (generally speaking) Would you like to discover a secret method, unknown by the populous, that can help you achieve your weight loss goals safely and effectively? If so, all you have to do is fill out the form, and we will provide you with the most recommended products depending on your needs". By doing this, you will be advising the visitor that your providing value by recommending multiple products and providing a lot of information that will help them in their buying decision process.
If you just send them to an affiliate page, they will online have information on one product. Simply speaking, the chances of getting a lead versus a purchase from direct linking are higher... and not only that, building a lead list can turn into long-term, passive revenue because it's even possible for one lead to purchase multiple time.
You can think of it as if it were in the real world at a brick and mortar store.
Direct linking can resemble having people visit your store, and then telling them that after they leave with or without purchasing a product that your store will be relocated to a hard to find place.
Whereas with setting up a lead capturing landing page, when visitors come into the store you'll offer free samples if they are willing to receive promotional material either via mail or email. Some may decide to and some won't. For each customer that agrees, it will help increase customer retention and revenue.
