Hi everyone,

I run an E-Cigarette company in the UK and I am looking for some advice.

E-Cigarette and E-Liquid is against the ToS of the above providers and I would like to know who else I should use? or if anyone can do a work around?

I have an healthy budget to spend on advertising as it is approaching our major point of the year (New Years Resolutions - Give up smoking) but I do not want to be throwing money down a black hole, and that is why I am here asking for advice.

Really appreciate any help.

Hi, I think it would be an error giving up on those ad networks altogether.

    Here's what I'd do:

    - set up a landing page where people can sign up for a free report, a free video series or better yet a free live webinar
    - the topic of your free report/video/webinar is "how to give up smoking"
    - set up a Facebook Ads campaign to drive traffic to your landing page

With this system, you'll have a e-mail list of people who want to quit smoking, so you can promote them your products via e-mail with no restrictions or TOS :-)

Also, if you offer a free webinar, you can pitch your products right at the end of the webinar.

I'd start by taking an hour or so to set up a simple landing page and a small Facebook Ads campaign, just to make sure that your ads get approved.
You can then create a better landing page and scale the ad campaign up.

I run an online advertising agency in London, so please send me an e-mail if you need help: we offer a free phone strategy session to all our potential clients.

Just send me an e-mail at carlo@phoenixglare.co.uk and I'd be happy to help you for free.

Thank you Carlo, your help is muchly appreciated

I fear Google, Facebook and Bing are able to link any new account I make and ban it immediately, does this sound likely?

      • Not really, no.

How many accounts have you had paused / terminated on Facebook ?

Just using my own personal account on Facebook, this isnt blocked, they just never approve any advert.

I have had numerous Adwords accounts blocked however and each time I make a new one, it is banned immediately without starting a campaign.

You can always do media buying on large websites. Trying to cheat Google/FB/Bing is quite hard by the way, their robots are really smart...

    Hey Wicked

Try using Taboola and Outbrain. The reach these platforms can give you is huge and works quite well if you are targeting smokers.

However, long-term I would try and get your accounts back by diversifying into CPA products that do adhere to their marketing guidelines and then fully co-operate with Google, Facebook and BING. Usually that does work in getting your accounts back if you play by their rules, apologize and ask nicely what you can do to get your accounts back. But trying to open new accounts in an effort to bypass their system doesn't work. It's better to fully co-operate and do what they ask you to change and you should get your accounts back. I couldn't do without these PPC platforms as they are almost a necessity in todays CPA/CPL game.

      Hi Nick,

Thank you for your valuable advice.

      I attempted to open an account with Outbrain and I got this from them;

      "Hi witcheliquid,

Thanks for launching a new campaign with Amplify DIY!

Unfortunately, because of our policy on adult content, we cannot accept your content at this time. As stated in our Content Guidelines (Outbrain Content Guidelines | Outbrain), Outbrain reserves the right to block any content from the network that we find too adult, sensational, or provocative for our users and publishers.

We encourage you to submit content that meets the above standards. We appreciate your interest in Outbrain Amplify and hope we can work together in the future.

      Best Regards,
      Sydney"

I then replied and explained that we are not an 'Adult content site' but they replied by saying that they regard Electronic Cigarettes as the above and therefore cannot entertain us any further.

I will certainly try out Taboola.

The problem I had with Google, Bing and Facebook is that 'under no circumstances' were they willing to let an eCigarette company advertise.

So what I am mainly asking for is a strategy where rather than trying to circumvent their system, I can come up with a solution that does comply.

      Thanks.

May be you haven't followed the rules and regulation of this search engine that's why you have banned. Next, you can try for yahoo but be careful while doing in that.

    Okay here are my suggestions.
    1. Read the terms of use.
It'll say what you can and can't do.
I actually do it pretty much every time,
a little secret I use is Natural Reader,
    it's a free software.
and if your lazy just scroll to the important stuff
and have it read it to you
    2. Use an Ad Directory to find media buying sites.
Here with this link, Ad Network Directory | search more than 475 online ad networks
You will never need more traffic, you just want to find a few good ones,
to get good at before going and buying from too many too soon.

Start getting affiliates to promote your offer. The more the better. Doing this will increase your sales.

1.) Set up a content website about how to stop smoking
2.) Offer a free report/pdf/video in exchange for your visitors email
3.) Send helpful content to your email list
4.) Occasionally advertise your E-cigs to your email list
5.) Buy traffic and send to the content website NOT to the E-cig website.

    Really Guys?

Dont listen to these guys, if your offer converts and you know your numbers stop giving a **** about their t.o.s.

Get back out there and this time cloak your shit properly and avoid getting banned (at least temporarily)

Google does not allow sites that sell E-cigarettes. So the best thing is to use a site that is about stop smoking to build an email list and then market the E-cigarette to the email list.
