Dating offers conversion rates and POF

I have been running several dating offers on Plenty of fish.

I noticed that in the last 2 weeks my conversion rates have been down by 50-80%. Is this an impact of the holiday season or something else???

I heard that some offers/networks scrape towards the end of the year is this true?

Also, i was told that if i am using the same banners on POF and eventhough my CTR is the same i need to change/rotate banners as the old banners stop converting. Can this be true eventhough my CTR is the same?

    Big question. I'll see what I can do here...

    1. Holiday season and other factors (to be addressed in a minute).

    2. It depends on your network / program. The low-end variety will do it year-round, but especially around the holidays when free-to-paid upgrades are low.

    3. Use custom banners. That's your biggest problem. Custom banners, custom landers, and try to seek out different dating offers. POF is a good place to learn PPC, because you pick up everything on a small scale that you would elsewhere. What you're experiencing is the subliminal effect. People have seen your ad material so much, they don't see it any more. And this can happen even with custom content - and very quickly. When clever marketers see your material, and instinctively know it works, they copy it. Which is when you need to change up or suffer low conversions.

    That's strange.

    A friend of mine does big numbers in dating. I mean significantly big. He tells me that dating conversions go way up in the winters, as people like warm cuddly hugs and embraces and being lonely is painful especially during the winter.

      That's true. Always higher than summer. But we're talking about Christmas Eve/ Day/ Boxing Day, and New Years'.

    I use custom banners. My CTR stayed the same in December as in prior months but conversions are way down.

    I was making small ROI in november but lost money in december. Actually all of december was bad conversion wise but last 2 week 1-2% conversion rates.
