In principal with Adwords, only the respective owner of a particular site, can advertise his/her site on Adwords network, be it display or search.

There is no issue as long as they are direct linking without any affiliate link.

  • Here's the straight dope:

You can advertise any site, whether you own it or not, as long as you follow all the policies. This means you can direct link and have your affiliate code. You can use a tracker link as long as the destination domain that appears in the browser is the same as your ad's display domain. Whichever landing page you use must comply with all policies.

Let me add some thing here,

You cannot use url shoterners like bitfly or something.

Also, if you are an affiliate of a some website, you cannot advertise there website with your own affiliate link or cookie in it, as the Google give's the right of advertising to the owner of a site or whoever person, which do a direct linking.

I have never heard of this and find nothing in the policies suggesting this. Please provide supporting link.

          Here you go,

Affiliate program rules: We don't allow affiliates to advertise on AdWords in violation of the applicable affiliate program rules.

Diverse content: We don't allow advertisers to promote the same or similar content from multiple accounts on the same or similar queries.

  • Affiliate program rules: All this means is, if an affiliate does not allow you to use PPC and link directly, Google won't show your ads. It does not mean that you cannot advertise a site if the affiliate does allow it.

Diverse content: means Google will show only one ad if more than one qualify for the same domain. So if there are two or more affiliates linking to the site, only one will show for the search query. This is something they have been doing for years.

      Greetings,

Google does not allow direct linking of affiliate URL's, can you show any one example of this?

Additionally, from where did you copy the above information? Any source? or your own personal opinion?

  • I do have over ten years experience managing client accounts and am a Google Partner, if that counts for anything. It's not an opinion but understanding the rules, which I know can sometimes seem cryptic. None of my current clients are affiliate marketers but this has not been a problem before.

This is one of many myths and misunderstandings about Adwords and affiliate marketing. There is nothing in the policies that say they don't allow direct linking of affiliate programs nor that they don't allow affiliate marketers at all, unless doing this violates the affiliate program's rules. You'll find some in these forums that use Adwords to promote their offers without problems.

      Greetings,

The point is not to offense you, I'm a Google Partner myself, however, I haven't seen any practical example of it yet, Yes, Affiliates are allowed with there own landing pages, however direct linking is some thing I will question it, unless you mention some source, or possibly if you have read a thread at adwords forum, post it here.
