Anybody know any software out there that allows you to load up a large list of keywords (millions) and download traffic volume out of them from the previous months? Particular from Google's traffic.

Adwords Editor and it's online tools used to allow this but now is extremely limited.

I know they have an api but no clue how to even set that up.

The Google Keyword Planner (you will need an adwords account to use it) will allow you to see historical searches on a nice little chart

Use google keyword planner. Use long tail keywords as it includes small keywords too.

Do any of you guys actually USE the Keyword Planner you're recommending?

If you did, you would know you can only get Search Volume Estimates in batches of 1,000, from web-browser, though I typically do batches of 500 at a time because they claim to do up to 1000, but whenever 1000 is used, it only returns a report for 800.

They also offer batches up to 3,000 if you import a list rather than entering it into the web form.

And, as you can see, if you read the post, he's acting about getting data on millions of Keywords.

So, Spartanic, I would say that you probably need a custom tool created that can do batches of 3000 over and over while you sleep. It will still take a while, especially since they probably rate-limit it as well, but can be done...

AK86 is on point. Google keyword planner maxes out at 3,000 for keywords uploaded with spreadsheet and only returns 800 keywords with traffic. The do have an API but that requires you have a token and active Adwords account. So far haven't found anything that can do this.
