No Other Competing Ads

So I'm in a niche that has no other ads on Google (From what I see), and I am looking to use Adwords to advertise my landing page for my free course to build my list.

I see suggested bids on the keyword tool on Google adwords around $1.50 for the keywords I want to target. Why is this? And will I have to pay anything near that, I am wondering if I could get an ad for way cheaper.. Thanks

This is avarage price automatically generated by Google's keyword suggestion tools. You don't need to worry about the price if there is no competition at all.
You are free to set price per click inside your ad manager/campaign.

From my experience I've never seen any keyword or group of keywords that do not have any competition.

I searched all the terms I am using, and literally NOTHING. Turned off adblock and even tried different browsers to make sure. :3

BUT, can you even advert a squeeze page / one pager on adwords?

I think you would find this post very useful for PPC landing page or squeeze page:

Not really what I need. What I am wondering now is does google even alow single page sites (technically two, but the second is just a thanks page) or squeeze pages for better terms.

  • Just because YOU don't see ads doesn't mean they don't exist. It also does not mean they never have existed for those keywords. The suggested bid is based in part on past advertisers' history.

There can be a big difference between your bid and what you actually pay. It all boils down to current competition bids, their Quality Score and your own QS. The thing you can control is your own QS and it is largely based on your CTR as compared to competitors. In other words, increase CTR and your QS will too and help decrease CPC, or at lest keep it in check.

There are rules and policies on what you can and cannot do in Adwords. There is a section on squeeze pages. Basically, pages where you have no information and simply collect emails are not allowed.

Could you link to where it talks about the content on my page, so I can make my squeeze page rule compliant. Thanks.
