Hey PPC & SEM Warriors,

I'm a veteran SEO/digital marketing dude but I'm seriously looking into exploring new avenues.

Don't get me wrong - I wouldn't trade my Client SEO business for anything, but I'm just getting a little tired from all the hand-holding and upkeep needed. And I'm also pretty frustrated by the fact that the work I do for clients just goes out the window if they decide not to renew their contract.

So, I'm looking to apply my SEO skills to make money in ways that are slightly less headache-inducing. So far, I've discovered some serious success with the pay-per-lead (PPL) model.

PPL is essentially just setting up a kick a$$ website with geo-modified search terms and then just selling any leads it attracts to local businesses that are willing to pay up for a shot at a new customer. These companies are already spending through the roof for PPC, so they're pretty open to paying for actual leads.

Anyway, I was hoping you guys could suggest some other non-client models or strategies that have worked for you.

Look forward to learning from you guys, thanks!

Pay per lead: The affiliate is paid for a "lead", in other words when someone fills out a form or subscribes to a newsletter.

Pay per click: The affiliate is paid for each click. No sale is necessary.
