How much money is needed to start out?

I've been thinking about buying pack per click advertising on Bing. How much is a good amount to start out with? I would assume that a few hundred is not enough. Should it be in the thousands to start out?

    Depends what you;re going for. But in general I'd have $2000+ to try new things and test. That's $2000 you CAN afford to lose.

      We can't define a specific amount for Ads. It depends on the industry standards, Target location, Keyword cost and many such criteria. Most importantly, analyse the campaign each day and optimize, only then you can get the expected result.

        I suppose the problem is I don’t know what to promote. I thought about promoting something like Click Bank. I just don’t know what to do. I want to go where the money is. I don’t really care what I promote. I just wan to make some money. So, I don’t know how to approach any of this.
