Taboola/Outbrain alternatives for smaller sites?

I own some sites that I feel could do much better than Adsense by utilizing related content ads. I'm sure you have seen Taboola and Outbrain ads on big sites. The ads look like related content thus yielding a higher click through rate.

However, both Taboola and Outbrain only work with very big sites that get a ton of traffic. You won't get approved unless you have 500k visitors a month.

Does anyone know of a similar network that does related content ads, but can be used to monetize sites with lower traffic? I basically want a network that doesn't have a traffic minimum.

Thanks!

Is the 500k/month a new requirement for those content networks? We didn't run into that when we ran campaigns on both those networks a year ago but things change.

I don't know if these have traffic minimums, but some others for you to check out:

      AllScreenHQ
      Shareaholic
      nRelate
      Gravity

Taboola and Outbrain will both accept your website if you can show and convince the sales guys that your traffic is improving well or that your posts are going viral on social media. They LOVE viral content.

Source: I've been through the approval process of Taboola and I don't own a BIG website.

Woah why is your CPC so small??? These are tiny compared to adsense. Looks like you can make more on just a couple of adsense clicks versus 50 clicks on outbrain..

This statement is complete garbage. I started using Outbrain with a brand new site no traffic. You just have to communicate with them and have a real site.

Right on the money. They are having advertisers commit to (or go towards) a $5k/month budget with a very strict scaling process. With communication and your rep, you can use the first 2-3 months to get close, but if you're at $500 spend at the end of month 1, you won't be using them long. I believe I was at $2,500 at the end of month 1, with $1,000 of that budget just during the last week alone. Month 2 I was clearing $4k. So they were fine with it.

@ the 'eyeballs' commit. Taboola traffic lead to approx 22% increase in our ad revenue, 31% in optins and 18% in initial sales. This is in conjunction with rev content, Gemini and Outbrain.

Mileage will always vary, but you pay for what you get. If you want cheap traffic, you get cheap results.

You also have to ALWAYS consider your website. You have to build it for this type of traffic.

I looked into it. You want a similar alternative that is cheaply scalable? Research Facebook. They have post boosting and other things that get into that "viral" advertising mumbo jumbo a lot cheaper. Personally I'm not a believer that it would make me a single penny. But maybe my niches don't fit.

Hey, if your site do not meet the requirement for Taboola or Outbrain, you can try Vidinterest Publisher, but this one just recommends videos.

    Thanks.

Try out Nster platform, this is exactly what they are - a great alternative for those big ones. They are a small company so you won't have those limits you've mentioned. plus, because they are small, they offer very nice personalized approach and adjust to your needs, without just offering you standard solutions regardless whether they fit you or not

I use content.ad...clicks start from $0,3 for commercial content.

    Noncommercial content is more cheaper.
