$200-$500 Per Month Marketing Budget, How to Implement?

Hey Guys,

New here, been lurking for years. Appreciate all the great stuff I've read here over the years.

I started an MMA blog that blew up about 10 years ago, I sold it in 2012 for a very nice price. Since then I've been working in the Oil and Gas business, which is very profitable, but a business in which you can be laid off at any second which I find myself in once again. It usually picks back up in a couple months, but I'd rather not have to worry about it anymore and start something online again.

I started a make money online blog awhile ago and was lucky enough to get a very valuable link on a subreddit dedicated to just that. Get about 100 uniques a day from it. As of now I write articles and promote survey sites and quick cash sites like CashCrate or microworking stuf like MTURK. Overall I'd say I have about 300 or so people under me on these sites, but I don't have their emails, which I realize now was a mistake giving another company that valuable information.

So my question is I have money saved up and want to market my site or maybe some clickbank stuff, I'm not sure. What would you guys do in my situation? I'm not asking for a magic bullet just maybe some simple strategies. Thanks.

Perhaps start another MMA site and do it all over again?

I've thought about it although the market is so much more saturated now. I got in before it really took off.

Just go for what you are really interested in.

That's the fastest way to succeed.

Immediately, put email capture form and start collecting email. Build your list, as long as you are having good run with subreddit or any other traffic sources.

I use Aweber. In my personal opinion Aweber is the best in term of delivery rate and reliability though a bit costly than other AR out there.

So it seems that you have your own website right now.

What I would do is talk a little about you and at the bottom, add an affiliate program that you like to work with.

If you are going to promote that site on any of the search engines, I would start with $10 per day and bid low. This will get you some traffic but it will show you what you need to tweak. Then when you start to make some small profits everyday, you can increase your bids and how much you want to spend per day.

      Would you suggest Bing ads?

Don't pay for traffic until you have something to monetize at the end, and you're converting on the traffic you do have.
Yes, start collecting emails, however you want.

I'd look at your situation in Oil and how many others might be in the same boat, and put up a site/service to address that somehow. You may get access to a great list of people if lots were laid off all at once.
