Bing ads very newbie question

Hi all

I am keen to learn and deveop a passive income source. I have looked at various options and am keen to find out more about Bing Ads Campaigns.

However I am unsure how the mechanics work. As far as I can tell you pay a predetermined amount as a budget and run a campaign to generate income.

However how does it actually work? Do you have to design some kind of advert and select a product to link to it?

Sorry for this very basic question, but I am not quite getting how it all fits together. I have heard I need an affiliate manager? Does clickbank make sense?

Best wishes

Ben

You have to write a short ad which concisely describes what product or service you are offering then you insert a URL that you want your ad to go to when a person clicks the ad. There isn't a set formula for exactly what you need to put in the ad. This is why when you create your campaign, you need to split test with different ads to see which ads get the best CTR. Having a good CTR is important because it means your ad costs are lower and you get more traffic to your landing page thus increasing the chances of getting a lead/sale.

You can choose to run your ads on the search network or the content network. It's generally advised by many people to run your ads on the search network only because the traffic quality is better. It's said that some people arbitrage traffic on the content network, so you could be paying for low quality traffic that doesn't convert.

To see examples of ads that Bing ads users are using, just go to Bing and type in a keyword related to a product or service and you'll see the ads on the right side of the screen. If people's ad is appearing on page 1 for good keywords in competitive niches i.e. weight loss or MMO, then you know that their ad is very likely a well written one. So you can gain some inspiration from it.

If you don't have a product or service already then you can select an affiliate product to promote. It's better to use a landing page for this to pre-sell because conversion rates are higher than direct linking to the vendors sales page.

You don't need an affiliate manager. If you join a CPA network then you are automatically assigned an affiliate manager.

Clickbank is a commonly used network for Bing ads, so they are as good choice as any networks.

      Hi dude

Thanks for your reply, just got home from work and it was top of the posts.

With landing pages, say from a Bing Ads campaign, is there a general consensus as to what is the norm? or what works?

I have tried to look for example landing pages but they just all seem like blatant marketing/email collection tools.

Could I link an advertising campaign so the landing page is a blog or content filled website? I could then reference the target product in there and add a link at the side?

I would then like to somehow link the final target advert on that site as shown in the diagram. Is all that possible?

75% of the conversions I get on Bing campaigns are coming off of Windows Phone and Windows 8 tablets. Find an affiliate campaign that is an easy, mobile optimized conversion and pays at least $15/conversion. Look for cheap keywords and exact match long tail keywords and keep an eye on peak times that you're getting conversions. Don't get lazy, monitor your stats all day. Affiliate marketing in conjunction with paid search is like day trading. You have to keep an eye on is, pause when there's downtime, accelerate when it's busy and scale your bids.
