How do the #1 top Spots survive with the HIGH PPC rates?

As the question states, I'm curious to see how the top 3 PPC spots on search results survive when the PPC rate is so high?

Looking at my competition, we all have very similar landing pages and I bid very high to see how much the top spots cost, on the same keyword which all of us show up. The keyword is highly relevant and is exactly what I would think if I was searching for this product. Very high impression rate, decent 1-2% click through.

How are these guys making money? I cannot imagine their conversion rate is much higher than mine as we are all using the same funnel. Our landing pages look are mostly the same.

Am I missing something here?

PPC experts, do any of you ever bid the highest? If so, what is your reason?

    Extracted from my thread. Most of the money are make on the backend that you cannot see.

    I would like to reveal some of the insider secrets I have shared with my students on how you can keep competitors away from your castle by building several moats around it. (and why direct linking is costing you more than you think)



    #1. Go for a subscription based product/service
    A subscription based product/service make sure you get paid MULTIPLE times for the initial effort you have put in to get your subscribers.

    That's why insurance companies and universities are willing to pay up to 100 buck (yes 100 buck with 2 zeros behind it) per click for their campaign. (so 2 buck per click doesn't seem that costly after all? )

    That's because once their subscribers get into their funnel, they are billed every month/semester for their packages.

    Conclusion: Increase the value per customer so you have a bigger budget than anyone to outlast and outbid anyone in your turf without hurting your profit margin.

    #2. Know your customer better than anyone else
    Does your customer buy your product/service during the day or night?
    What are the pain points that need to be resolved immediately?
    Is there any existing needs that have not been met yet?

    Create survey forms and do a weekly mailing to probe on their pain points and any improvement that can be make to an existing clickbank product/cpa offer.

    If you can create a better product than your offer, won't it be more sensible(albeit more profitable) to sell it yourself through your own list than helping someone else to sell for a cut?

    Conclusion: Make use of your existing Clickbank and CPA offer only as a leverage to gain more customers and build a bigger list. Without a list, you are back to zero even you are making 1,000 a day. Period.

    #3. Joint Venture On Steroid
    Now you have a list. It's time to do some joint venturing. Try to find similar vendors or webmasters in your niche and do a % rev share if they are willing to promote your product/offer.

    The best way to do that is having a high EPC (easily obtainable if you have a good converting list) and building a good relationship with them before you even start approaching them.

    This is the fastest and most profitable way to grow since you are leverage on their assets to build a BIGGER list. (and a heap of greenbacks too)

    Conclusion: Money do make more money. But in internet marketing, having a list and a good relationship may open more doors than money does. This is the best and fastest way to grow without relying on any advertising platform.

    I hope by the end of this thread, you are convinced having a good lander is the way to go.

    Final conclusion: At the end of the day, you want a reliable and stable business that can feed your family for generations to come.

    Making money is not that hard if you spend 16 hours a day grinding it. (just like how those office rats wearing branded suit at Wall Street..)

    But being able to make money while being able to attend your child's graduation ceremonies, birthday parties and attending to every hour of his/her life with your spouse is a whole new level altogether.

    The power of PPC lies in its reliability and a well-oiled structure that make money work for you instead of you working for the money.

    Heavy emphasis on the last part...

    What you are talking about is the visible (having similar landers)...

    But there's always the invisible, which just might include (but not limited to):
    • A massive backend
    • Retargeting campaign
    • High-converting follow up series
    • Bonuses to increase conversions
    • Urgency / scarcity
    • Copious amounts of split testing
    • Them knowing their numbers like the back of their hand
    • And about a million other things
    The point here is that there is a ton more going on...

    Than just what you see on their lander.

    because of a high lifetime customer value, advertisers can afford to pay more per click. for eg. a person injury compensation can run into millions so the attorneys buying personal injury keywords are willing to splash 100/200 per click.

    then there are companies who have up-sells and back-end products. then there are companies with recurring revenue.
