Sorry to say you are wrong.

There is no policy in AdWords that prohibits affiliate links.

Having said that, you must carefully vet your affiliate offers for AdWords will hold you, the advertiser, responsible for any policy violations made by the merchants you are promoting. You cannot say to AdWords "it wasn't me" because it was "you" that selected the offer. You are responsible for any and all bad acts committed by the merchant you affiliate with, no exceptions.

Exactly good input to this thread and anyways this is just my opinion but why is the OP trying to direct link to affiliate offers anyways? Of course direct linking does work and I don't want to bad mouth it, but why don't you collect emails build a long term list and make ten times the income

        Good luck!

    Yes, of course!
You could put whatever link do you want in the hidden line.

Direct traffic directly in the affiliate site was one of the first strategy at the beginning of google AdWords!

That was probably in 2007. After that Adwords evolve and add stuff like quality score etc which makes it very hard to get traffic, lots of impression and most importantly lowest cost possible with direct linking.

You can definitely direct link at Google. However as dburk said, if the merchant gets into trouble, you get into trouble as well. If the merchant cannot fix the problem, then you are in effect banned permanently. Obviously, an affiliate is likely to promote multiple merchants. Therefore, the chances of getting into trouble is much higher than let's say a person promoting his own website only.

You can, but makesure, your affiliate link does not redirect to some other website. Adwords don't allow that, Apart from that, you can place any kind of affiliate links in your landing page for call-to-actions.

You can't send people to a link you don't own so it's difficult to use affiliate links but there is a workaround

      Hi JohnnyFanta,

Please allow me to correct your assertion.

You absolutely can send people to a link you do not own, lots of people do, it's called direct linking to affiliate offers, or 3rd party tracking services.

AdWords has a special field that you can place in your ad settings just for such situations, it's called the "Tracking template URL". However, doing so for a merchant you have not fully vetted is a very questionable business model.

Well thanks guys but I am still confused about the topic, given the different answers.

I understand the best approach is no direct affiliate links though.

Also, I read in another thread the following:

The Destination URL has to match the Display URL
Someone got banned in relation to that so I wonder if it is related to my question.

        Thanks

I very much he was actually banned for that.

He was direct linking to Clickbank and JVZoo offers, and Google is known to ban a lot of vendors in those platforms.

If you're still confused then you need to thoroughly read the adwords policies. Don't skim or just look at the headlines. Read it until you understand. If you still have questions, then contact them and ask clear questions and you will get your answer.

No one was banned for using the wrong destination url unless it was a repeated violation. If they tell you to stop doing it and you continue, you will of course get banned as you should. So either he did that or the real problem was that the material at the destination url was violating policies.

First of all, the quoted statement is inaccurate.

Back when AdWords still used Destination URLs, it do not have to match the Display URL. Instead the root domain of the Display URL must match the root domain of the Landing page, that was true and still is today.

While a Landing page URL might "happen" to be the same URL as the the (now deprecated) Destination URL, they could be, and often were completely different URLs.AdWords has always allowed that, it was only the domain of the Display URL and the domain of the Landing page URLs that needed to match.

AdWords no longer accepts the use of the now obsolete Destination URL field, instead you must use the new Final URL field, and if you have a tracking URL that is different from the Final URL then you can simply enter it in the Tracking Template URL field, and just as Destination URLs did not have to match the Display URL, nor the Landing Page URL, the Tracking Template URL does not have to match any other URL.

      Hi tarun2805,

You can place your affiliate link (sometimes called a hop link) within the Tracking template URL field.

Again, I caution you to thoroughly vet the affiliate offers before doing any kind of direct linking.

      Hi @jonadexter,

I see nothing pertinent there, just says you cannot violate affiliate program rules, that one should be obvious.

The second part refers to the Diverse content rule: AdWords doesn't allow advertisers to promote the same or similar content from multiple accounts on the same or similar queries.

That rule will prevent all but one marketer to advertise the same landing page for any given keyword. So a Direct link marketer must find keywords that are not being advertised on by competing affiliate marketers promoting the same landing page. The seems simple enough to comply with, right?

      Hi HammerNiko,

Sorry you are wrong, yes, you can, it's just unwise to do so in most cases. Your suggestion of a review website is a good one.

100% you can use your affiliate/CPA link in adword advertising.
But As per google [adword] policy google doesn't accept direct link and their destination page. You need mask it with your domain , forward CPA link to your domain or make a landing page.

Any how as study says Direct linking on CPA links is a bad promotional idea. It FAIL,
Always deliver traffic through a landing page. It works good.
In first step you get your visitor data and when visitor's don't convert you can use their email address to communicate with them again. Other wise you can sell your email sheet.

Kindly provide more details ... how to mask a link?

I have seen the terms of adwords and come to know that it is not safe to use direct linking. Then it also says that link should not redirect to the other domain.
Then, with the use of landing page how to use affiliate link. Because visitors will be redirected to affiliate page.

      kindly provide more details.

No you can't use affiliate links directly in Google Adwords destination URL section but if you place that link on your website by creating a landing page about that product and then use the URL of your landing page in Adwdords then it is acceptable by Google

Yes you can but your ad can not properly display. Because Google doesn't want to see a affiliate advertise. You can create landing page and then you can use landing page.

It's indeed much safer to do affiliate marketing PPC using Bing instead of Adwords. While Bing has been stricter in their guidelines lately (mainly requiring your own landing pages that you can control), the biggest plus is that they would patiently work with you to fix your pages until they comply. On the other hand, Adwords is well-known to ban you pretty quickly without much help provided.

I had an ad that would not get approved because it was an affiliate link. The only way to my knowledge that it works is to purchase your own domain name or maybe try a redirect url.
