If you want to learn to be an engineer, you have to go to school, pay tuition, study hard, learn from teachers, from books, from experiments, and after a while you get to be an engineer.

If you want to be a guitar player, you have to get a guitar, get a teacher, pay the teacher, practice a lot, try out a few public performances, practice some more, get a better teacher, pay this teacher more, listen to a lot of expert guitar playing, and after a while you get to be a good guitar player.

Selling online is no different. You are not likely to succeed immediately. Very very few are good right off the bat. You will need to study, read, get a teacher, coach, probably spend "tuition" either by getting a coach(es), a course(s), books, and/or by spending money on ads that don't work at first.

So, just realize that selling online is a skill just like being an engineer or a guitarist, and you will have to pay tuition and learn a lot, but then you will be able to make a living (and maybe get rich).

Also, there are many engineering schools and books, and many guitar teachers, there is not "one way" to learn these things. Same with online selling. Find a course or a teacher or a book (or many) that call out to you, and get to learning. And an important step is doing. Got to take action. Gotta practice that guitar.

    Hope this helps -

Mate, i make the mistake of investing in PPC with don't be aware of that. And if you don't know anything about PPC, your first campaign going be disaster. You go lose all the money. I pass per that. I do SEO in my sites, and one day i go to PPC for see the results fast, and i really don't like.

What i recommend you, is if you go doing PPC anyway, doing the right way, hire some specialist in PPC for do this for you. If you don't do that, you can lose much money and win nothing in return.

I never had great success with PPC (especially when I used direct linking like you're planning on doing). Only earned commissions when I had a squeeze page. That way you can build your list also.

There are many youtube videos on how to lower ppc costs. I suggest your search youtube and watch them...there's no point spending money on PPC if the reward isn't going to turn a profit

        Just my own opinion

  • Well said Amber. Welcome by the way.

ejoni, you'll have to get your hands dirty which it seems you are willing to do. 15 years of internet marketing (assuming you mean SEO) does not guarantee success. SEO and PPC are different things. I also agree that you need to have good selling skills but that won't come just by looking at a website that does this well.

The alternative of course if you don't want to be an engineer is to hire one.

    Hey there,

Well first off no offence is intended by my comments, im just voicing my opinion. After 15 years of IM or online business you should have realised that just direct linking is not the way to make money unless your a wizard of converting "cold traffic" which 98% of people online are not.

You need to set up a marketing funnel and the drive traffic from the search engines!!

    Good luck!

You're in for a rude awakening if you are direct linking to CB sales pages on any of the major networks. You can get away with it on 7search but you won't make any money anyway.

Please tell me how exactly it works with the squeeze page. They just clicked your ad in google or bing search about a solution to problem X and now they are at a squeeze page with just an email submit form to get what? What are you offering, a free report about problem X? If so why do they need to buy your affiliate product?

I am a newbie on squeeze pages, just trying to learn how it works. Thanks.

I thought bing allowed direct linking, I just read an article dated a few weeks ago saying that they did. Please explain what the rude awakening is, low conversion?

Bing allows direct linking, but of course the page you are linking to has to be compliant with it's policies. I'd say somewhere around 95% of Clickbank products (which is what the OP wants to direct link to) are violating Bing's policies.

The rude awakening is that Google and Facebook will ban you for direct linking to CB products and Bing will first disapprove your ads and then ban you if you do it again. If you do it with one of the CB products that are explicitly prohibited by Bing, they will ban you immediately too.

Based on 2 different sources, you have to make sure there isn't a big video right on the main sales page or maybe not one at all and also when you click to exit there can't be a pop up.

I am talking about bing, I know google won't allow any of it.

Create a review website with sign up incentive and autoresponder directing to the affiliate link. Then just use Google AdWords.

Note: follow AdWords TOS or ads will be rejected.

You mentioned testing 4 different traffic sources. I wouldn't try to learn 4 PPC sources at once. Pick one (not 7search) and perfect that one before moving on.

If you would like to send traffic directly to hop links, i suggest you to use bing ads. Be sure to choose offers without autoplay videos and popups.

i have never made money on BING by direct linking maybe $5 or something like that.

But we are doing $900 USD a day sending as much traffic as we can get to a squeeze page. That works, like hot knife through butter.

our ratio sending BING traffic direct to sales page, 0%

our ratio sending to Squeeze page and into a nice looking funnel, is sitting at about 4:1 which basically means statistically, on BING now-a-days, for every 1 dollar we put in, we get back $4.....

Its getting lower, now, but I have to say any sort of campaign on BING, has a half life. Even if you do a media buy it does.

my favourite saying with any sorts of marketing you do, is = ALWAYS BE TESTING!

    Hi,

If SEO is done the right way, any site can be ranked to the first page of search engines, but the problem is people do not follow the whitehat method with proper manual work and instead follow shortcut.

PPC can be started anytime , requirement is a good Landing Page for the page you are targetting.
One has to be careful while PPC as it can burn out your money in minutes, so its adviced to take help of someone well versed with.

    Regards

Hmmm...I have done well on Bing direct linking. But agree, build your list with Bing first and market / re-market to that list.

I often do some direct link action to see if an offer converts.

    My Bing Funnel is simple:

PPC Ad --> LeadPage Optin --> VSL Offer

I tend to break even on this if the landing page has a high conversion rate.

I need to integrate webinars into the mix ;-)

If you're using PPC... your best bet would be using a landing page to capture your visitors. When I say "capture" it doesn't mean you HAVE to build a list by collecting their emails (although if you like, you can do that ), you can simply place a FB pixel code on your page and direct them to your affiliate link right after the page loads. That way you can then REtarget those prospects on FB and make even more money. Hope this makes sense to you
