      Hi Intouch01,

There are several common methods of tracking conversion rates for PPC advertising campaigns.

      1. Use the ad platforms conversion tracking script. All major ad platforms provide code snippets that you can place on your thank you pages to track conversions. These tracking snippets allow you to not only track aggregate conversions for the campaign, but you can track right down to the individual keyword level.

      2. Use Goals in Google Analytics. With Google Analytics you can track conversions on your website from many different channels, including custom campaigns.

      3. Use a 3rd party tracking script. Many third party tracking scripts are available that will allow you to create custom campaign tags that allow you to track your PPC conversions.

In my opinion it is usually best to use the tracking snippet provided by the ad platform you are advertising on. In most cases it gives you and advantage in having that data within the same system you are using to manage your campaigns.

In order to avoid the ad networks/publishers cheat you, you had better build your own tracking system. You can get some tracking code and make into your system.
