For Google Adwords and Bing Ads:

    1. Do your keyword research (for your niche of course) and collect as many keywords with over 500 monthly searchers as you can. (I suggest you avoid keywords that entail the word ''free'' in them unless you 're doing small CPA offers like email submit)
    2. Set tracking in order to be able to identify which keywords bring you the conversions.
    3. Create 3 differnet ad variations of the same ad (experiment with different copy on each one) aka split-testing.
    4. Set the budget to $5/day and start testing. (preferably you sould also make sure to target Tier1 countries only: USA, UK, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia)
    5. Notice which keywords and which of the 3 ad variations work the best. Scale up the profitable ones and pause the others.

BONUS TIP: If your niche belongs to any of the following category: IM/MMO , health&fitness, dating, gaming then $0,5 is the maximum you should bid for a keyword. If you bid more than that it's not worth it....you would better turn to solo ads.

    Hi compchamp,

There are 8 key steps to planning a great PPC campaign:

    1. Know your objectives, targets and competition
    2. Keyword research
    3. Budget - set your maximum budget allowed in the start off period and amend accordingly going forward
    4. Campaign structure - base this on your products/service or locations you are targeting
    5. Build the campaigns - offline editors make this easier
    6. Test - make sure you test keywords and ad copy, bids and daily budgets
    7. Optimise - learn from the tests and optimise accordingly
    8. Keep testing and optimising
