Google Adwords Help Needed

Hi,

I have used google Adwords for many years for my business and have gained a lot of exposure and sales from it, but I feel like all of a sudden it is not working effectively. I am not sure if it is something I am doing wrong with my ads. I have spoken with Google and we have gone over the ads for optimum effectiveness, but still the conversion rate is Way lower than in the past. I sell a physical product. I would like to find someone who could coach me through it and find out what the issues are. Recommendations? Thanks in advance!

Hi,

One thing that obviously can impact the effectiveness of your advertising is competition. But it would have more of a direct impact on your traffic volume and cost per click not conversion rates.

If you say that conversion rates are down then there are basically 2 most likely reasons - 1) something has changed on your website; 2) The quality of your traffic has decreased - your getting more irrelevant clicks.

If it's 1) then check what has changed. Maybe you have changed the destination URL that the visitors are directed to after clicking on the ad.
If it's 2) then go through your search terms. Google sometimes changes the way keyword match types work and a keyword might trigger some search queries that it didn't trigger before and therefore you can start receiving irrelevant or less valuable clicks. Or maybe you added some new keywords or changed match types for some of the keywords.

It's also right smack in the middle of the CHristmas rush where costs go up as everyone and their dog starts pushing ads out hardcore. It could just be that.

Adwords is getting harder, that's for sure. It requires constant monitoring and improvements in order to make it work. Also I wouldn't recommend you to let google reps to help you with your campaigns, as they usually want to get your money and don't really care about your profits.
