How would you increase our sites traffic too 500 uniques / day?

We have a great product and a decent enough site. We're very happy with the conversion rate but we are having trouble driving sufficient traffic (considering the size of the target market).

What are the most cost and time-effective ways for us to increase targeted traffic? We don't currently rank on Google so that's obviously a priority. We want to get to 500 uniques / day and currently are driving traffic through word of mouth only (I know..). Any ideas?

    Hi slipandslide,

    I took a quick look at the data for your niche using the AdWords Keyword Planner tool. Looks like you niche has roughly 15,000 searches per month in the US. If you were to get a 2% CTR for the niche as a whole you are looking at only about 10 clicks per day. Even at 6% CTR you only get to about 30 targeted visitors per day, So Search Engine Marketing alone is not going to get you anywhere near 500 daily visitors.

    As always, if the bottom of the marketing funnel is too small then you need to do some work in the top of the funnel to make the bottom grow.You could target the display network and probably get up to 100 targeted daily visitors, and add in Social Media Ads and Video Ads to get the balance of what you are looking for, definitely achievable however it will require a comprehensive marketing strategy to grow interest and awareness of your brand.

      Really? I've just had a look and it says 96k in the US alone. I take your point though. Thanks for the other advice too, much appreciated.

        Hi slipandslide,

        My Search data must be lower than yours because I filtered out irrelevant terms and those with low commercial intent.

        While you could go broader if you wish, you would likely be targeting terms that will not convert. Not all traffic is of the same quality and value. I generally suggest advertisers to exclude those terms that are related, but not relevant.

        If you do not care about conversions, or making a profit, then you can easily get all the traffic you want.

    You need social marketing to save your budget (Facebook Page is a must)! but you need to spent a dime at first with Facebook Ads to increase your Page Likes then it will became viral itself!
