Product testing with google adwords PPC

I did some reading and research on google adwords but I'm still very new to this topic.
I started an adwords campaign to see if it is worth to develop a product (an ebook on financial trading related topics).
I have a page that anounces the ebook and there is the option to subscribe to a newsletter to get 25% off of the ebook when it is available.
The trigger to count a conversion is when somebody subscribes to the newsletter (entered email, click on subscribe. Didn't manage to track the final subscription approval page).
I was just playing around with a very small adwords budget:
campaing runs for a few days, had approx. 9000 impressions, 90 klicks and 6 "conversions".
from the 6 conversions there where only 3 "real" subscribers to the newsletter, the otheres probably did not click on the email-confirmation link.
Everything did cost mit about 60€ until now.
I am looking for tipps to improve this testing stage to see if it is worth to write this ebook.
The conversions are no "real" conversions - how could I more liable results? Should I use a real "pre-order" process, where customers buy the product? If I deceide to not create the product, I can refund their payments.
Any hints/ resources on the topic of reliable product testing are appriciated.
