Hi guys,

Very much a layman Question - I couldn't find a lay mans answer

On Bing ads I set a search bid for my keywords in an add group for perhaps 0,55

There is also an option for "content bid"

What is this?

It's set as the default of 0,05

Is this correct? Should I increase to match search bid?

Thank you

Content bid is for their content network.

When starting out, you should stick with their search network only and make sure content network is unchecked.. I don't remember the exact terminology.

If you've done that you can just ignore what that content bid says it won't apply to your campaign.

  • Content is a totally different animal. It's the ads you see on other sites. You should never mix search and content in the same campaign.

I've been on Bingads for a number of years and as an affiliate it's really hard to make money on the content side of things. The quality of traffic is just fine but the issue is tracking. There just isn't a way that I know of that allows you to track what is converting on the content end.

Adwords has the {placement} token but Bingads does not pass you a token letting you know what converted and what did not.

On the older Bingads platform you could do a postback but they took away that option so it's a lot harder to make it work now.
