Hi

i made a new ppc campaign on Bing Ads .It had only one ad group with around 150 keywords with a bid of $1. I got some 700 impressions .The average rate of impressions per hour was around 60 .

Next day i did not changed anything and my impressions volume falls steeply like around 10 impressions / hour

The same thing is continued next day with increased bids but the impression volume is really low .

can anyone have any idea what is happening ? Its a new campaign only 3 days old now .

thanks

You are competing with others who are making
their ads better to get more impressions.

Hence, if you don't improve, your impressions will
    continue to fall.

Another reason is your low quality score.

As it get lower, your impression drops too.

Having 150 keywords in an ad group is a bad practice
even it is the fastest and easiest way to lump keywords
    together.

It's normal for impressions to rise and fall, things like TV ads, radio, newspaper ads can affect impressions as well as seasonal fluctuations, Christmas, school holidays etc and also people are not searching for your niche as much.
    Hope this helps

thanks for your reply mac but from my past experience in this domain i have seen very insignificant fluctuations in search volume over time .Impressions are now coming as normal .I think it takes time for bing to adjust each individual new campaign inline with market trends.

There's a few main factors to look at so you can improve your results based on what shared...the 2 fastest ways to boost clicks for you...

For one...you have way too many keywords in an ad group. Definitely break those large sets of keywords into smaller ad groups and try to make your ad more relevant so improves.

Two..increase your bid (but still break all those keywords into smaller groups, that's way too many keywords for ad group, especially if trying to test and improve campaign).

Either way, after tested, i'm sure you'll find a lot of those keywords are not as targeted as you would like, so eliminate and make tighter related ad groups.

Impressions are now coming as expected but i will try to break those keywords into small ad groups .But from my previous experiences i am sure 50% of them wont even get a single impression .so ultimately i have to delete them after some days of testing even most of them are closely related to my industry .

Having 150 keywords in one ad group is way to many and lowers the quality score. The only time a keyword should be included in one ad group is if it is extremely relevant. You should have under 5 super targeted keywords for a single adgroup at most. Other factors like site and ad relevancy can also contribute to ad score and placement thus influencing impressions. I suggest fixing these problems first, you will see your impressions improve.

Check your bounce rate. That might be the reason. A high bounce rate generates a low quality score. Try to create an exciting landing page. Make sure it has a lot of videos and images. Those will peek the users eye. Also, put a lot of links in them to give more choices to your users. Remember that you do not want people to hit the back arrow. Like there are many ways to get people to go away, and not buy from you. Basically, this is a sure one.
