Bing Ads Don't Allow Tracking Links Anymore...

When my one of my bing ads campaigns wasn't getting any traffic after 2 days I decided to contact support who tried to tell me that they don't allow tracking links anymore!

Clearly this member of staff needs to read up on their terms.

The domain of my display URL and landing page are both on the same domain so I knew my campaign was setup correctly. Not a clue what triggered their system to flag the campaign and not send any traffic, but the response from support was golden:-

Update
This is the reply I got several days later when they realized my ads were compliant:-
#ads #anymore #bing #bing ads #bing ads account #bing ppc no traffic #bing tracking #links #ppc #tracking

That is the reason not many people use bing ads.

I think that is taking it a little too far. Bing isn't Google, but there is still a market there. And some industries that we work in that we have running in Bing, out perform Google, and it's not even close. So it does depend the marketing, but I think you should always be using Bing in your marketing plan.

So We certainly don't Discount Bing at all. I had the privilege to train at their headquarters in Bellevue, Washington last February and UET's were discussed, as well as some pretty cool stuff that will be coming out of Microsoft and Bing here in the near future. They are setting themselves up right now to be a major player in the near future. They are thinking outside the box, and when their ready, they will create quite a ripple in the advertising world.

Anyway, the UET tag, It's a pretty easy tag to implement, and I love the tag better than Google's, because all you need is one tag for everything, and only one small altercation when it comes to variables for ecommerce. It's so simple. You can easily drop it into tag manger and your golden.

I have some (failed) campaigns running right now with simple prosper202 tracking and they don't seem to care.

Something similar happens on Facebook too. Meaning human editors follow different rules.

You make a campaign and gets approved. Then you change a minor thing, it gets through the approval process again, then it gets disabled.

No point in talking to support, just try again.

Yeah totally agree, facebook can be a pain, you can re-submit exactly the same ad that was rejected and have it approved by another member of support.

And what is the solution? Tracking manually?

Microsoft is like a clumsy nerd asking a pretty cheerleader for a date - painful to see.

I use to use BINGO ads a lot, but not any more.

    Not even granny uses em.

You run into the same issues on every platform. Even on Adwords I at times have to push back. Not on display/tracking urls but generally on image ads and landing pages.
