Can you share your experiences with buying traffic? I'm considering it, but I see huge differences in pricing when I look around.

For instance:
mytrafficsource $90/100 clicks
webgeeks $70/10,000 visitors

Can anyone advise the newbie?

    I haven't heard of either of those. Don't just buy traffic to see your site visit numbers go up. There should be a purpose to it. Visits are only useful if they can be converted to customers for both you and your clients if you decide to sell advertising to your site.

    I currently use Google for my PPC advertising. Using Google Adwords Express will allow you to hit your target market and it gives you good, detailed analytics.

    I don't know if they are still running it but when I signed up recently, Google was running a special where after you spend $50 on PPC, they will give you a $100 credit.

    Setup Adwords campaign and you can get legitimate traffic/sale leads as well.,
