20 Clicks? Doesn't seem much for a conversion unless it was highly in demand. I have an online store that offers an extremely niche product and it even averages around 40 or more clicks per conversion.

20 clicks are nothing. You'll need many more to get a sale and a good image on your ad potential --the car, it row, etc. So, don't be disappointed. Keep your ad up, track your results, and tweak it till you get the best roi

I sell the item for between $14 - $27, so if I need more than 20 clicks to make a sale I might as well stop PPC for it. There is huge demand for the product, I just don't understand why I get no sales from people who are literally searching 'Buy (product name)'. I even mention the price on the ad so they know how much it costs before clicking.

Have you tried Facebook PPC? I have heard that trendy items work well there.

Hard to tell without seeing ads or site, but if basically only one of what you are selling like said and iIf only brought in 20 clicks so far, then really not good measure of conversions or anything.

You do need to run for more than 20 clicks to see where conversion rate could be. However...

Suggestion for you if find cost of conversion is getting high, simply add upsells to become profitable.

    Hi zigglr6,

Welcome to the brave new world of multi-touch marketing.

Your competitors are likely using a multi-touch marketing strategy and getting way better conversion rates than you are.

Such a simple strategy that you are attempting doesn't work in 2017 as well as it did in 2010. You need to learn how to develop a more sophisticated marketing strategy rather than just straight selling without marketing.

If you have more than a couple of competitors your basic bottom-of-the-funnel strategy is not going to be able to compete effectively with competitors that are using full-funnel marketing. Learn marketing and apply a more competitive strategy to compete effectively.

    HTH,

    Don Burk

p.s. As others have mentioned, 20 clicks is way too little to base any kind of decision on, it is more likely to be random results with such few clicks, not at all actionable.

You're severely limiting yourself sticking to one keyword.

How much do you pay for each click?

Plus you should also try image ads. Image ads work well.

Another recommendation is to put ads on custom channels that publishers use. The targeted promotion will be more effective.

And 20 clicks are not much to generate sales. That's my personal experience.

You need at least 100 clicks or maybe more to see if you are having success or not.

Also, get people into your email list as opposed to just trying to make a sale right off the bat.

This will give you more chances to market to them.

    Stop Burning Your PPC Budget

Pay per click (PPC) advertising is one of the smoothest and fastest ways to send traceable web traffic to your website. Using powerful marketing tools like; Google AdWords and Bing Ads/Yahoo.

With PPC - For a bidding fee, Entrepreneurs can display ads on search engines marked "Sponsored" which is usually at the top and bottom sections of search results. When someone clicks on the Ad to your website, you will be charged for that click on a bidding rate.

To get the results, you will have to implement a PPC strategy as to make sure you don't burn through your funds without results. If you make little mistakes and can't fix them, you might end up spending a huge amount of your PPC budget without any conversions.

Don't start PPC advertising on your own, unless you have studied and experimented with different strategies. To help you take the weight off, here are 5 mistakes most businesses make when setting up a PPC campaign without an expert.

Making your Homepage a Landing page
    Not doing PPC A/B Testing
PPC Visitors to your Contact Page
Focus your Keyword More and avoid 'broad match' keyword ads
Not taking advantage of negative keywords

I wrote a whole blog post on this topic because I found a lot of small businesses and entrepreneurs just wasting their money on ads.

Bummer that it's not happening for you with this campaign!

With all due respect to the previous answers, I think the real answer here is:

Dude, I have no idea why it's not working.. apart from the small sample size, we know nothing about the campaign setup, analytics setup, call tracking setup, or anything else (including sales copy).

My advice, for what it's worth, is that you release a couple more details.. the chances of you having found the "golden nuts" niche that no-one else has ever thought of is pretty slim, so you're not going to lose millions of dollars by spilling the beans.

So.. I suggest you go crazy, unleash your inner wild-man and let us see the landing page. If you're getting some clicks, we may as well start there, as you seem to be pretty secret squirrel on what keywords you're using.

So... what's the page url you're sending the traffic to?

Before you make any judgments about sales you need to have at least 300+ clicks for ecommerce type campaigns. PPC is trial and error in the begining until you find your optimum bid that will make you profitable. So, I would suggest you to lower your bids and leave it there until you get more clicks.

    Hi,
20 clicks aren't quite high for judge conversions in Google Adwords, you should run adwords with a some amount of budget and then check the performance, buy before you need to choose right keywords and proper match type of keywords, Do no use broad match if you have limited budget, also do the keyword research as per your business or products.

    Thanks

20 clicks is nothing, you need more. You need at least 150-300 clicks before you can make any decision so you can iron out anomalies.

Think of marketing as a test, you test your way to success.

Think remarketing and on Google and FB and you'll add another dimension to your marketing instead of being lazy and just sending clicks,
