Should I ONLY be targeting buyer keywords?

Say for example my niche is sciatica, sciatica treatment, sciatica relief etc, and pretty much all the keywords that have any search volume are, best sciatica treatment, way to relieve sciatica etc.. Can I target keywords like that, or would I be wasting my time and money?

You'll find that certain terms will convert far better than others. When they're that relevant to your niche, there may be other sciatica terms which are half the cost per click, but only convert 10% as well so your CPA is much lower on the higher cost per click.

You can bid whatever you would like for the click, there's nothing holding you to Google's estimated costs per click. If your revenue from a conversion is only $10 and you have a 5% average conversion rate, then it doesn't make sense to pay $5 a click so you can adjust as more data comes in.

Honestly there are too many variables at play (we don't even know what you're offering) so no one can say for sure until you jump in there. Invest a little into seeing what performs well at the start, then quickly pause or drop cpc's on terms which show less promise.
