I call certain people to feature them on Google ads, years ago I had no problem getting almost any website on the first page. Now I just restarted and it seems all the websites get a error saying they will not show due to a low ad rank. Is there a simple fix for this? I tried increasing the CPC by a lot and it still didnt work. Is there a way to write the ad better? Thanks!

    Hi SteveAlex,

Yes, there is a way to write ads that get a higher ad rank score.

Before you do that you might want to check on your keyword's Quality Score.

Your Ad Rank Score is based on your Quality Score multiplied by your Max CPC bid. The higher your Quality Score and the higher your Max CPC bid, the higher your Ad Rank score will be.

When you first launch a new ad it will be given a QS of 6/10 until after your ad gets enough impressions to be adjusted based on the actual CTR. The better your ad's CTR, as compared to your competitors' CTR the higher your Quality Score will be adjusted. Likewise, if your ads has lower than average CTR it will earn a poor quality score, forcing you to bid very high to get your ad to even display.

Assuming there is no issue with your Quality Score, you simply need to bid higher to get ad impressions. If you have a poor Quality Score then you may need to improve your account structure, keyword selections, write more compelling ads, or a combination of those tasks.

Make sure that your ad group keyword lists are tightly focused on a single very specific keyword topic, that your ads are clear, relevant, very specific to the keyword topic of your ad group, and include a single compelling value proposition and a Call -To-Action.

Test at least a couple different value propositions for each ad group by writing a seprate ad for each value proposition. By running multiple ads you will be able to discover which value proposition your target audience finds the most compelling and that top performing ad will become your new baseline ad text.

You can continue testing additional value propositions until you are sure that you have the best performing one as your baseline ad.

Start by checking the Quality Scores and let us know what you find. We can then help your with the next step if needed.

    HTH,

    Don Burk
